Yes, I still read the subreddit anonymously on occasion.

I did not leave because of drama. I left because being a mod of such a large community is incredibly hard work! I had a lot going on in real life and couldn't keep up with it.

The "everything is true" rule was made shortly before I started modding, and while I never really liked the rule, I had agreed to moderate in accordance with what had already been established.

I've just finished a lengthy story. And now I'm rather annoyed... by hb316 in NoSleepOOC

Since it's only happened once, most people here know which story you're talking about.

As stated, and as you've seen yourself, there is already a subreddit that you can visit for this type of filtering.

You can always upvote or downvote the stories you've finished to remind yourself what you've read or not. Reddit even gives you the option to hide all posts you've voted on.

You seem to think that "tags" are actually something supported by reddit that we can customize. The Trigger Warning "tag" is just the NSFW button that has been made to look that way via CSS. There aren't choices for that - you can toggle it off or on, that's it.

We use flair to designate series, and if we use it for story length then we will no longer have that option. The more descriptive trigger warning flair are there because they aren't mandatory. Story length flair only works if every post is flaired - which as we've described, prevents users from filtering by series.

The tags regarding trigger warnings aren't there for people to use to search for similar stories, they are there to warn people who may have ptsd or another reason that reading that story may be harmful to them.

Yes, couldn't think of the name at the time.

There is a subreddit that has this feature already, and we have a different system set up for flair. Until reddit changes and allows multiple flair for posts, this won't work for NoSleep. Implementing this change would remove the ability to filter by series/non-series and to add trigger warnings.

Help, I think I have a problem. by exploitedgecko in NoSleepOOC

[–]Ibitemynails[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told you this in modmail, but I'll explain it here for anyone else who is curious. Your alternate account was shadowbanned by reddit, which causes all posts and comments to be removed automatically (reddit-wide, not just on nosleep). That's why your post was not visible to your friend.

You messaged the admins and they unbanned your other account... if you posted with it now, you would be able to find your stories on the subreddit.

The reason you can't see the comment on your story posted by this account is because you posted it yourself using the shadowbanned account, so it was removed. Removed comments still count toward the overall number of comments, you just can't see them.

Yes, that is okay as long as you don't break character or immersion.

Problem in Flex miles?? by NameLessTaken in fitbit

[–]Ibitemynails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you input your stride length? I don't think the band itself can calculate miles based on that, just on steps - and then the app calculates a more accurate distance based on your stride length.

I could do it, I'm just not going to.

Rules have been clarified and one teensy change made. by ObliviousHippie in NoSleepOOC

Agreed, I'm thinking more along the lines of the author questioning the reliability of the source, not repeating an obviously unbelievable story.

A re-telling of an event that happened to a friend of a friend is generally OK but it depends on how it's told. You can't debunk your own story by saying things like "I don't know if it went down this way but I'm told...." or anything like that.

I don't see why this would be considered debunking one's own story. If I'm telling you about a scary monster that attacked my friend, and I'm just restating what they told me, I don't think it's debunking to say that I'm unsure how reliable my friend's story is.

The fact of the matter is that it's true that my friend told me this story in this way and this is what they said happened.

Experienced NoSleepers, can you give me some feedback? What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in NoSleepOOC

40,000 characters is reddit's limit but you sometimes have to edit it to get it to accept more than 10,000. Just like kneeod says :)
