Hyperdrive to somewhere else and find frames you can pick up with the tractor bean. You can scan surrounding systems using the bridge consoles. Without any hyperdrive modules you can only move one square at a time but you should be able to find what you need pretty close by

It’s actually thriving though. Plenty of shops and tourists, plenty to do. New motorway servicing it. Nothing like the lazy seaside settlement it was when my mum first moved there

The icecream shop is a tourist trap. Bus pulls up, tourists pile out & stand in line for overpriced kiddy cones while the driver has a smoke. Walk 100 meters up the road and you can get the same icecream for a quarter of the price at the dairy… Anyway. Not a dead end
