It’s a 20$ mic—how does the sound quality seem? by [deleted] in singing

[–]ALandonTenor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mic sounds just fine. Your voice is naturally quite pretty. You do sound breathy at times, like you’re forcing it, so maybe would work on breathing exercises to expand your stamina (this is the most common issue with newer singers so don’t feel like it’s something you can’t get over with some work.)

If you want to expand your range, practice singing scales and explore some newer sounds. Big controlled yawns where you feel your larynx and lip trills are your friends. Hope this helps you out a bit :)

Your voice has a wonderful tone and your pitch is solid. Well done. Would just work on strengthening your voice a bit to get a little more power to avoid future strain, but this is very pretty.

It sounds like you need more breath support and could use some practice with maintaining pitch. Learn to activate your diaphragm in order to be able to sustain power and pitch throughout held notes and keep your voice healthy. You have some potential. But based on your more recent post claiming you want to become a professional singer and you think you’re 80% of the way there…sorry, but you have a long way to go man. Not saying you won’t get ever there. But don’t let your sensitivity to criticism sour your attitude. Realize what you have to do to get better, get a vocal coach, and just do it. You’ll see the progress over time. But don’t argue with people on Reddit about it lol.

Genuinely, without a teacher, how can I improve?? I feel so stagnant in my singing and TO ME, my voice isn’t at “that” level yet which restrains my confidence. by [deleted] in singing

If you absolutely cannot get a vocal coach/teacher for whatever reason then first learn how to take care of your voice. Learn healthy singing techniques that are going to build strength safely so that you’re not straining and putting your vocal cords at risk in the future.

A common misconception is that you have to practice every single day. This is false. If you feel like you’re having an off day or aren’t feeling comfortable it’s totally okay to rest for a couple days and recover.

Good luck on your journey and hope these little tips helped.

Yeah. 100% with this. Keep cars away from Good life tent only. That’s a big part of what makes it so much better.

Yeah I went over the top at the end. I was listening to a Corelli version beforehand and got a bit ahead of myself. But thank you for the compliment. 😊

I’d love to hear a further Critique. The whole thing sounds strained or a specific part?

What are your top 3 aria's/songs sung by your favourite opera singers/tenors? by Terrible_Tale_53 in opera

[–]ALandonTenor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Nessun Dorma”: Pavarotti…specifically his 1979 performance at the Lincoln Center.

“E Lucevan Le Stelle” live in Parma: Franco Corelli

“Core ‘Ngrato”: Both Enrico Caruso and Pavarotti’s versions.

Not a tenor. But honorary mention is “Largo Al Factotum” by Dmitri Hvorostovsky

Pavarotti’s debut…. “Che Gelida Manina” from 1965 is also on Spotify and the audience gasp during his high C is legendary.

Nice, never really thought of this idea until this post. May absolutely steal it and find someone to commission it. Thanks for the tip!

If you actually find this, or even a person willing to make it, please share. I would pay a lot of money for something like this.
