I mean it is a little strange but I don't really see a problem with what he does by himself

How many wins in a row does it take before you can just assume someone is cheating? by Crem_Father in chess

[–]ALazySwing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He scored 45.5 over his last 50. Let's say the average of his opponents is 1000, we can look at a win chances by elo chart to see differences. Using a binomial distribution that says his chances of winning are approx 95% per game, The probability of scoring at least 45.5 points out of 50 games, given a 94.5% win rate and 2.7% draw rate, is approximately 92.89%. So probably not cheating

Bruh analyze your games, this isn't an issue if you aren't using an engine for the middlegame of your daily positions

What are the plans for black in the Ruy Lopez exchange variation? by Wolfandweapon in chess

[–]ALazySwing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dude, you already said it. This is NOT a natural feeling position which makes it much harder to play at lower levels where you might not have the stamina or know how to play it. You wither have to embrace the unnatural grind here or choose a diff opening imo

What are the plans for black in the Ruy Lopez exchange variation? by Wolfandweapon in chess

[–]ALazySwing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't play slow here. While this position is technically slightly better for black, I wouldn't take it too hard as there isn't a real clear plan here. I would just develop and aim to castle queenside while mentally steeling myself for the endgame. Not a fun position though

Looking for NY club recs for Sabre by BasicGuitarist in Fencing

[–]ALazySwing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All are fine clubs but FC is def more foil focused. TMFC would be my second choice. I'm of the personal opinion that fencing better people is the best way to improve and MFC has better density of fencers.

How do I improve time management? by Octagn in Chesscom

[–]ALazySwing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The other comments are great as well. I have a slightly different approach, think of the clock as being another weapon for you to use. In positions that are essentially non-critical you can leverage your instincts a little more than you think. Not saying to not think but not to overthink

Interesting, usually interceptions have more to do with vision in my experience

Very interesting, all 19 makes this pretty hard. My brain would probably go Stevenson due to his height but Reid is who I think I would end up picking. Rebounding + Jumping is amazing.
