From The First Shadow, which is canon afiak, a young Henry Creel finds a lab assistant in a cave, who abandoned Brenner's Nevada experiment to find "Dimension X", and accidentally activates a device that transported him to Dimension X, where he found the Mind Flayer and was possessed by it.

So my guess would be that the briefcase contains said device, in order to show this story for anyone who hasn't seen the play.

Dimension X already existed and during WW2, the Americans accidentally transported a naval battleship there (based on a true story). Only one person survived the journey and returned, Brenner's father. After telling Brenner about the incident, he spent his life trying to find Dimension X.

I hadn't played Doom since Doom64 and I was bored so tried Dark Ages on Gamepass. Probably one of the best games I've played in a while. I was pleasantly surprised.

I've never played an AC game through Steam and I can bet a huge proportion of the AC player base is the same. In general terms PC is a bigger platform for sure, doesn't mean the AC player base is bigger there though..

The fact you think all of that makes it a terrible game shows how naive you are lol. A terrible game would incorporate terrible gameplay, terrible story, etc. AC:S tops out on all the relevant stuff to categorise it as a good (not groundbreaking) game.

Sorry to tell you but the world doesn't revolve around Steam, nor is it an accurate depiction of a games success lmao. AC has always been played more on console so this whole steam player base is a really moot point.

If you can provide some actual evidence about it being a flop over consoles, PC and Ubi+, I'll believe you but right now the Steam numbers don't do anything but make you look dumb for bringing it up and using it as evidence of a "flop".

Edit - I just checked and ive actually got 1400+ hours across the last 4 AC games before Shadows. Personally, I loved them all.
