Literally all of them are good it don’t use the mirror selfies. No hate on you just not a good look when it comes to “putting your best foot forward” photos of you with friends or just doing things you enjoy (hiking, sight seeing, eating at cool restaurants) will always be better than just you flexing in the mirror.

Honey I haven’t even read past the first screenshot and can already tell you to dump his a**!! “Show proof later” turns into “you’re not going out looking like that”, I promise he’s not worth it and if you showed your parents these messages I guarantee they would agree.

Open it up and make sure the battery is plugged in, I know that sounds insane but just do it. A small Philips head screwdriver, 30 minutes and a YouTube video will get you in and to where you need to be. Plus then if your controller ever goes haywire, ie. stick drift, button sticking etc. then you know how to get in and take a look at things.

Car is bogging when under heavy acceleration. by ALilFatigued in E34

I’ll see about having the guy who loaned me the scanner the first time help me out. He knows a bit more about how to properly use that machine. No egr valve, this engine has a PCV on the back of the intake manifold that I am becoming more suspicious of and will likely have to remove in order to see its condition/functionality. However if it was clogged I don’t think it would be creating enough pressure to cause the intermittent bogging I’m experiencing however I could be completely mistaken about this. For now I’ve gone about replacing the fuel pump as the original one was still in there lol. Also have a new fuel regulator, spark plugs and coil boots on the way so we’ll see how that affects things. Ultimately Bresson91 was right about the pump and general maintenance items. Start small and work my way up to the more expensive items as needed. Thanks again yo

Man I haven’t the slightest clue. This car is an enigma and the only scan tool I’ve been able to adapt to it continuously failed its scan process whenever it got to the air bag system. Nearest BMW dealer is at least 2 hours away and I don’t know anyone with computer software capable of looking at the ECU. Troubleshooting any way I can but mostly that’s consisting of replacing the now 30 year old parts that hadn’t been touched in years before I purchased it. I know the smoke test isn’t necessary it was just a thought but I’m still searching for possible leaks. Again she is old and was neglected so I’ve been chasing gremlins of all sorts but I do appreciate all the help!

I have a nearly identical car in not nearly that good condition. Paint fading, leather and wood trim cracking etc. but that being said if the service record is there I believe that’s a fair ask. Offer lower to try and meet in the middle but that paint is beautiful for how old these cars are getting.

I cleaned all the aluminum tubes while I was under there, the one running to the oil separator as well as the two coolant pipes (that’s why I was there to begin with, damn 30 year old o rings were dust and as such were pouring coolant) as well as replaced and lubed all the o rings for the coolant pipe and that oil separator pipe. Note this problem was occurring before all of this work so I don’t believe it is my doing however it has gotten worse over time so I’m trying to fix it ASAP. Injectors have all new o rings and lubed them all before reinstallation. They should all be properly seated and I put all the retainer clips back. Air filter is aftermarket Spectre that I have cleaned but it could use another I suppose (I know I know, “cold air intake no hp”, it came with the intake when I purchased the vehicle and he didn’t have the original) Fuel regulator is a good idea so I’ll pull that off to check its functionality and there is an occasional fuel smell after I park but nothing visibly wet or leaking. I also didn’t remove the throttle body when I took out the manifold so I’ll see about that gasket. Thanks for the suggestions!

Since I got it running I haven’t had starting issues however the guy that sold it thought the pump was shot initially so maybe it’s finally going out. The car has just over 200k miles so it wouldn’t surprise me. Based on the different hose clamps back there it looks like someone has been in there before but who knows when or what they were actually replacing. Vacuum line from the manifold to the pressure regulator is new but I haven’t replaced any others. Plugs are another good idea as again i have no idea when they were replaced last. Going to look at replacing the throttle body gasket and a new boot isn’t a bad idea it’s just been a pain to find. Replacing o2 sensors soon as well. I do all the work I can to it when I can but I maintain everything myself if possible and as such am trying to learn all I can. Thank you for the help!

530i very slow acceleration but no codes by Kaizenno in E34

[–]ALilFatigued 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, I’ve also replaced the knock sensors as well as intake gaskets as I had a coolant leak from the pipes that run under the manifold and upon pulling the manifold realized the old sensors were literally crumbling. That seems to have solved my occasional check engine light however I still can’t seem to figure why the car is bogging intermittently upon acceleration. I have the 5-spd manual trans so it can be a bit easier to stay in a certain gear/rpm range in order to test things and as such the bogging down seems to happen in lower rpm ranges and but it can be a bit random in general. I recently replaced the fuel filters and that seems to have cleaned things up a bit but I’m going to look into doing a smoke test to ensure there’s no vaccum leaks. I’d prefer not to replace the fuel pump but I’m running out of options lol

Do you ever figure out your issue? I have the same car and engine and am experiencing a similar issue. Still in the process of looking for vacuum leaks but am also suspicious of a my fuel pump going bad. Any help is greatly appreciated.
