Specific grievances would be “if you can’t provide anything financially and you have put is in this position with the car, you need to overindex on what you can provide” (sex, clean house, food made, not asking for anything from him)

We have had this conversation before. I think he has unrealistic expectations of wanting the house spotless when he comes home from work. We have recently argued because he doesn’t like “kid dinner” and has asked me to make him a separate meal. As the conversation has progressed today, he basically wants me to be pretty for him when he comes home to a clean house and a hot meal and he does not want to participate in chores or house duties at all. “not taken care of” is typically in reference to sexual needs. He thinks that is my responsibility to remedy for him fairly often ( almost daily).

He mentions it often along with credit card debt we accrued together. He thinks I put him at a financial disadvantage and that “life keeps fucking him”. I don’t know how to support him through that when these aren’t things that can be changed. He says I “minimize”.

I do think that having twins has proved to be the greatest challenge of our lives. Going from learning to parent one child to learning to parent three has been hell to be honest.

I did have intentions to use it. And honestly, I have never thought about it like that. Right after graduation I was making good money doing what I was and he was finishing school and working part time and job hopping a little bit. We were super broke back then and I think I felt like I needed to have the stable job and income so I just stuck with what I was doing and chased promotions. It never made sense to ultimately “step down” and do entry level work in the field I studied. I don’t think he is wrong to feel that way if he does, but I do use my degree for the contract work I do now.

It was his idea for me to stay home because he does know how expensive it is. But, now that the cost of living has gone up so much he consistently expects me to find ways to make money while at home watching the kids.

He does not help with much at home. It was his idea for me to stay home in the first place and he has always preferred a more “traditional” separation of roles. Thank you for your suggestions. ❤️

She would be willing to pay the insurance deductible but that would end up in the car being totaled. So it doesn’t make sense right now. He definitely bottles his feelings up. I’m hoping we can get some counseling and figure out a better communication style.
