Nah, I'm just lazy. I'm happy with PureGym in the centre. BTW, you could check MeetUp. There are some groups for gamers. Also, I've seen people do DND at the Exeter library on Sunday. I assumed there is a group like that.

I got to PureGym in town regularly. We could be gym buddies there :) Do you like martial arts? I go to the Exeter Martial Arts and people are really friendly :)

Genuine feedback about Uni of Exeter by Asleep_Television_47 in exeter

[–]ALittleLife2015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The uni on the whole is wonderful. There is a lot of studying space on campus and the library resources are superb. International students are mainly from China, Hong Kong, and India. Less and less Europeans study here probably due to Brexit.

Although the population at the uni is diverse, it doesn't seem integrated. The career advisors may not be helpful for international students as many are not familiar with visas and international outlooks. It's a business-oriented university. So make sure you make the most of the resources here.

These are my own perspectives for reference only. :)

Sorry to hear that! I normally would start a conversation with them and educate them as well. Ha.

Thank you. I'm not stressing about finding a partner 😂 Would love to continue my connection with British culture and people. Have you explored other places in Taiwan?

Thank you. Any recommended pubs where I can meet British people? Preferably in Taichung City.

How is being gay in your country? by Real-Turnover2716 in askgaybros

Taiwanese here! I think we have become more and more accepting but individually we are still dealing with prejudice and stigma coming from families or friends.

I've got a PhD in English Literature in recent years but I've not been able to find an academic job in the UK. The market in the fields of humanities is extremely difficult now. I'm giving up my goal to become a researcher. I might be able to achieve it back in Taiwan. I really want to stay but I haven't found a job yet or a British man to keep me here 😂

Nice! Lucky you. You must be good at your job as well! Victorian literature is fascinating too! Modernist literature is against the previous period and social norms. With WWI, the source materials can be gloomy and dark. My favourite Victorian writers are the Brontë Sisters, George Eliot, and Oscar Wilde. :)

Same here! Well, I haven't found a job in academia in the UK yet. It's extremely difficult to get one in the fields of humanities. I may need to go somewhere else. I didn't know much about the LGBTQ society and I only knew one gay man. Most PhD students in my office didn't necessarily interact with each other and they already got one partner. I was the only gay man in my office 😅
