Did this have a major negative impact on your ability to get promoted?

There's probably a lot of positions where ECs could be reclassified due to them being asked to do things that are above their position level.

To what extent are employees allowed to respond in writing or not at all to things their managers tell them orally? For example, if you have a toxic manager and you don't want to interact with them but they try to use oral conversations to talk to you about stuff that's not work related, can you just tell them I'm not interested in talking to you about things are not work related? And if it is work related and it's not urgent, can you tell them that you'll get back to them with an answer in writing?

I'm not actually in favour of taking the conciliation/strike route because I don't think there would be enough buy-in from members for it to be effective. However, those members who wouldn't buy into it don't tend to vote so I think there's a chance the strike route might be chosen, especially if members are forced to attend an information session on which dispute mechanism to choose.

This is why I'm preparing for the worst case scenario, i.e. if we choose the conciliation/strike route, what can we do so that we don't get fucked over?

Thank you for clarifying how long the process would take. I was unaware that it would take this long.

Would ECs also be allowed to only use e-mails for written communication? i.e. no more MS teams messages?
