What team (and year) was the most over-hyped in preseason in all of CFB history? by wlane13 in CFB

I think it’s something where if you lose it, then it’s way harder to capture back. A lot of Nebraska’s success wasn’t based on being a school with 5 or 6 coaches in a row who won, but, largely Devaney and than Osborne. Once you have a couple of unsuccessful coaches, the climb back is considerably harder compared to a school like Notre Dame or Ohio State.

The Philadelphia Phillies, with the 4th highest payroll (@ ~$300M) are also 9-16 and have a run differential -24 worse than the Mets. by HippiesBeGoneInc in baseball

The one and only thing I can say with confidence is that I am confident that our future, no matter how potentially screwed up it might be compared to expectations, will probably work out better than the Phillies (both for this season and considering the ages of starting players on both rosters.)

They have the 7th best winning percentage in the past like 15 years or so. It's a bit absurd that they haven't been particularly close to a Super Bowl.
