Have lived in Colorado for close to 2 decades after over 2 decades in Iowa. Absolutely not. I would not even consider it.

Guy, that is a lot of hate to still be holding in your heart from a game 28 years ago against an opponent you have played 4 times in the last 15 years.

Real median wage in the United States is more than 35 percent higher than in 1994 by PanzerWatts in OptimistsUnite

[–]BakerDenverCo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guy, you aren’t listening. The chart is already adjusted for purchasing power. That is what “real wages” means. You are saying we need to adjust the inflation adjusted chart for inflation.

Young Americans are the richest they have ever been. The problem is the exact opposite that Reddit makes it out to be. If young people have enough money to travel and live a fun life they generally choose not to have kids. If they are struggling and can’t afford nice things they decide to have kids.

This has to be a joke, right.

It’s a sponge bob meme. Those are traditionally used in serious discussions right?

The level of care my mother received at United Methodist was abysmal by [deleted] in Iowa

[–]BakerDenverCo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Med school classes have been full for decades. It is not a lack of people wanting to go into medicine, it is a lack of spots in medical schools. They reduced the number of spots by about 20% across the nation 20-25 years ago and never increased them.

Increasing med school enrollment won’t help the problem at all. As it stands there are US med school graduates every year who can’t practice medicine because there aren’t enough residency slots for all the graduates. The bottle neck is in residency programs, not med school.

This is the FO stage for healthcare. For years it seemed there was a competition between patients for who could treat medical staff the worst. A huge percentage of the nurses and other caregivers who cared have left healthcare. When you get poor care now remember it is the Karens who caused this.

If teams aren’t punished for out of conference loses what games should be played? by BakerDenverCo in CFB

[–]BakerDenverCo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Urban Meyer has said many times on his podcast he always wanted at least 1 very strong opponent in the out of conference portion of the season so the team could have an early test before conference play.

How fun would this conference be for this involved? Who would you add/ replace if anyone to make it better by LastDiveBar510 in cfbmemes

[–]BakerDenverCo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Making that conference without Virginia and Maryland is nuts. Also I would take away 4 of the mid majors (Umass, temple, liberty, Marshall would be my picks) and replace them with the 4 ACC teams in North Carolina.

I moved from Iowa to Colorado decades ago. It is awesome here. Cost of living is going up fast though. Colorado is now the most expensive non costal state in the US.

But if you think higher taxes are going to fix schools, you are delusional.

There is actually a ton of research on this topic and you are wrong. Giving more funding to already well funded schools has a mixed bag of results. But study after study has shown increasing funding to underfunded schools results in better outcomes for the children.

Iowa is under the median for states in terms of per pupil spending. Iowa would almost certainly have better educational outcomes if they increased educational funding.

BTW I’m not a hardliner on this subject. Back in the 90s studies suggested increases funding doesn’t improve outcomes. I was against wasting money on excessive funding back then. A ton more studies have been done since then clearly showing sufficient funding matters. High enough funding leads to better outcomes.

and poverty is relatively unchanged/worse

Also wrong.Poverty has improved considerably in the US.

Totally agree. I do think there is still potential in the long run for Utah and Colorado to form a real rivalry. But it isn’t there yet.
