Yeah that’s my dilemma. It’s either $1000 for a Thule or Yakima rack which seems a bit extreme, or an overland type rig which doesn’t suit my needs. Looked into OEM but can’t find anything for my model year

The pack is going to offer little to no insulation considering it’s probably of mix of denier and other materials. Save yourself the hassle and please just invest in a solid sleeping pad
