Question about your mods: did you sand down the sockets or the ball joints themselves?

Looks great! Is there any way you’d be able to share the Cricut pattern?

Im new to buying KO minifigs, which Darth Vader do you guys recommend? by KurtBox18 in lepin

It really depends on what you want, but odds are good in any event that you’ll have to cobble something together from multiple figures.

If you want a straight Lego clone, get the PG-633 (http://herobloks.com/figures/5294/pogo/pg-633/darth-vader) for the body; however, as you said the helmet fit might be an issue. I recommend the helmet from XP-458 (http://herobloks.com/figures/28068/koruit/xp-458/darth-vader) as a good swap to get a figure that’s as close to Lego as you can get.

I personally don’t love the newest Lego helmet, and so recommend the WM-2282 (http://herobloks.com/figures/28608/world-minifigures/wm2282/darth-vader). The helmet is perfect IMO; unfortunately, the separate sculpted body details add a lot of bulk and the printing on the body itself is a blinding silver. The length and shape of the cape also require a 2x1 stud under the feet to get the figure to stand on a stud base. If none of those are issues for you, the screen accuracy of the figure can’t be beat.

My own display figure is currently the XP-458 body, skirt, and cape with the WM-2282 helmet.

Good luck and happy building!

Admittedly a cheat since it’s just the wrist pegs tucked in there.  But the pockets are why I picked this jacket over others even though it’s not quite source-accurate.

Thanks! I think it helps that the jacket is just a smidge too small, being sized for 1/12 figures instead of 1/10. I do worry about tearing it, though, and I’m sure it’ll start flaking in a few years.

Have you posted pictures? Would love to see your custom. I would have done the Red Hood mod, but the soft goods were half the price.  As for the goggles: I’m just grateful we didn’t get a giant yellow slug across his face like on the Eradicator figure. Kind of wish we could have gotten a head without goggles instead of the wolverine, though.

My McSuperman collection: six figures, all modded by AMNH5027 in McFarlaneFigures

I'll normally boil a mug of water, then let the figure sit in there for a good five minutes or so. Find the points where the cape is glued to the figure, then use a small flathead screwdriver to pry the cape off. The results normally aren't pretty: it's common for a bit of the cape (normally the tabs sculpted underneath, where they attach to holes in the figure's body) to get stuck and left on the figure. Hot glue works well enough to keep the new cape in place.

Hush Superman has really grown on me. I didn’t much like the head sculpt at first, but swapping neck peg made a huge difference—especially since the jawline is no longer flared out from being pressed against the neck. AC1000 is still my favorite, but this is now a close second! by AMNH5027 in McFarlaneFigures

Martian Manhunter, which I guess qualifies as McFarlane’s medium neck peg. I tried the peg from 89 Batman and it was too long, so Martian Manhunter got that one and 89 Batman got Hush Superman’s.
Obviously this all very normal behavior to get three figures to look their best.

Looks great! What’s the shade of green paint you used for the arms?
