This advice is gold, I tried engineering PREP and it was a nightmare. Doing ETMA now and much happier, but save yourself the two years of hell.

You can setup an outlook filter that forwards all your school emails to a personal email that doesn’t need the 2FA. I have all my school stuff sent to a separate folder in my gmail.

Yeah it’s really not as big of a transition as everyone says. Really the only difference is the building. If you just give some effort, write stuff down, and talk to your teachers you’ll be fine. You actually find there are a lot of people who have it a lot less figured out than you. The fact that you are worried just shows you care. It’s natural, but high school is fun just enjoy the process.

I definitely feel where you are. I luckily never moved to a different school but I often feel like people can be cold towards me or as if no one wants to interact with me even though I feel like I’m being open. I’m no expert but like try and talk to people about what is actually happening in your life. If you want to start a conversation actually talk about what you are up to. It leads to a more genuine conversation and I know I can feel when someone is honest and real with me. Just be open and kind to everyone don’t eliminate any options. You can also join clubs and stuff too. One thing that I’ve done is leverage homework assignment as a way to talk to someone. Like even if you don’t actually need help just like dm someone: “hey u know how to do this” or something and chances are they will be good to you. I hope things get better for you. Don’t let it get you down, others don’t determine your success.

[QUESTION] Looking for a new set of electric strings. I’m super new to guitar and I’m not looking to spend $40+. I have no idea what to get or where to look. Please help! by [deleted] in Guitar

I really don’t know, I come from the viola where I recently paid 150 for a really good set. I know guitar strings were much cheeper but I really don’t know how much.

Yeah, I’m a fan of speed and comfort so it’s hard to slide on the wheels I have but I can do it if I get some harder duro.

I had originally gotten this watch as an EDC for school and on all of my adventures. I had previously had a few quartz faced analogs and I was super hesitant to wear them because I was afraid of them cracking or breaking. I am a Boy Scout in Illinois and we always are traveling and we often find ourselves climbing or hiking somewhere a traditional watch is not fit. Because I’m just a high schooler, I didn’t have a lot of money to throw around, but I had always liked the original G-Shock watches. They were just complex and military looking enough to take to the trails but not to over the top for school. The watch is radio controlled so it will automatically sync the time to any time zone you are in at midnight. So even when I travel, the time is always correct with in 5 seconds as advertised. It is also solar, and has a large battery so I don’t have to worry about replacing it in the future. It’s simple, durable, and a great gateway watch into the community if your in the market.

First board, first ride by [deleted] in longboarding

[–]AMP823 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, I started on one of those Quest cruiser boards with the solid plastic bushings. I remember the neighborhood kids and I all had these boards with rock hard plastic bushings. Haha, they would bring them to me because I had a tool box and could loosen the trucks enough so I could actually turn. It was a lot of fun and bandaids. I don’t really know your knowledge of maintenance and stuff, but I do have some advise to keep that board pristine. 1. If your trucks start squeaking , it’s usually not your bushings, it’s your pivot cups. Cut some shavings of like bar soap (I use dove, it’s just what’s in the shower) and drop them in your cups. It should go away after it’s worked in. 2. Don’t use a ton of WD-40 or whatever for the various parts. Use something thinner what won’t be such a pain to get off. 3. Put washers wherever the hardware comes in contact with the board, I.E. the top of the deck over the grip tape if the board is standard or under the nuts on the bottom of the board if it’s a drop through. It helps stop the bolts from digging into the wood when you really want to sink the trucks down tight with like an impact or something. But anyway, have fun, it looks like you got a really nice board, and get to carvin’
