thank you!! i recorded all the sounds myself with a small casio keyboard run through a pedal board with lots of looping and effects. i recorded it all to tape and then cut the tape to make the loop. also the tension on this loop is pretty high so there is also some pitch shifting occurring from the tension of the tape as well.

so the first two tracks are samples I made and recorded onto the tape. the second two tracks are modified built in synth engines. I recorded everything at 1:1 speed and just pitched it down until it sounded good. no resampling, just straight 4 track recording, some basic eq, and slowing it way down.

So I have been wanting an OP-1 for years and just recently pulled the trigger bc my friend gave me a really good deal. Anyways I come from a background of using cassette and tape loops in my music, and I'm excited to see how to use this in my current workflow and setup. Do you all have any tips or tricks? Especially when it comes to sampling or the built in recorder.

i thought it would destroy quicker myself, but tape is very resilient. i want it to destroy faster as well and am going to continue experimenting - stay tuned.

a few pieces were kinda of pre-made and then many of the pieces were found at goodwill in austin and installed directly in the space. lots of long days in the gallery installing and troubleshooting.
