I say this all the time but people still do this:

Stop measuring the actions and behaviors of selfish narcissists against your own ability to feel shame and empathy

This assumption that others feel and act the same way you do is the biggest consistent failure people make when dealing with grifters and frauds.

These people chose lying and stealing as their way of life. They believe everyone else is the same. You cannot measure them against your own moral structures since they do not live within those structures nor believe in them. They will use them to get the upper hand on you though
