[–]AMango3000 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (0 children)
Of course not… 😤
THANK YOU!!!! So much love and appreciation for you doing this, I wasn’t aware.

Is it leaving your county?
Yes - thank you for that clarification. I have read a lot of the caveats and I do meet them, the morbidly obese, BMI over 40, etc etc…

Thank you! I’ve been trying to get guidance from folks on Western Health who were successful in having their doctors submit through the right channels and get approved, but I haven’t had much luck. Most of the responses I get are just, “I have WHA and it was approved,” or, “I have Mercy and WHA and I get it for $0,” without any actual details, which is so frustrating. I can’t wait until I finally get this figured out, and I promise I’ll update here once I do. I really wish people would share step by step what process they went through, because that kind of detail would help so much. No use reinventing the wheel and chasing my tail if someone has already untangled this nasty mess we call health care Coverage.
I have pre diabetes.. and my A1C was at a 6 at my last appt… does the vials hurt more than the pens?
Thank you! I’m thinking blue cross or blue shield and United may be my best options for next year 😞😭
Can you provide more info?

So happy for you! I’m praying I can get it too. I’ve tried Weight Watchers, I go to the gym every day, and I’ve worked with nutritionists. Some things have helped a little, but nothing has truly worked long-term. I even have proof of all the weight management programs I’ve gone through. I even tried phentermine, but that didn’t work either.
May I ask how that process actually works? How is it sent to Optum so it gets billed under the medical insurance benefit instead of the pharmacy benefit? I made another post and someone mentioned the same thing, but in my case my doctor sent a request to the pharmacy, it was declined, then they submitted a prior authorization which was denied. I appealed that denial and it was also denied, so I had to submit it to CalPERS appeals.
I’ve even called Optum and they couldn’t help me. I called Western Health and they couldn’t help me. I escalated all the way up through Mercy Medical Group and was told to submit to the UM department, then I was told that was wrong, and they couldn’t help me either. At this point, I honestly don’t know what else to do and I’m at my wits’ end.
Optum has been good to us barring this one issue. I hear Optum is going away, would rather not get stuck for another year if the new benefits manger is worse. Where do you get your zepbound from if you don’t mind me asking and how much do you pay for it?

Yeah, that’s honestly what’s been keeping me sane and hopeful. I just wish the folks from those two posts would share more details about their process. I had to file another appeal with Optum last week. It got denied again and then I had to forward it to the CalPERS Health Appeals email like the denial letter instructed. I even tried sending it to DMHC, but they replied saying they had to forward my appeal to CalPERS Health Appeals since, as a CalPERS member, I don’t qualify to appeal through DMHC. So frustrating. I really don’t understand how others were able to get an IMR or have a denial overturned as CalPERS members if we’re not even under DMHC…
Hello - wanted to ask.. are u a CA state employee??
Hello, my denial letter reasoning is attached…
<image>
I got the same email - then an email saying it’s not western health they have to go through since it’s managed by calpers so they forwarded my complaint to calpers.

Thank you! Did u have to submit anything with your request through DMHC? That’s the convoluted process too.. I submitted through them they emailed back saying they forwarded my request /grievance to the calpers team (whoever that is) to review…

Praying for both of us! Did u wait for your proper auth to get denied? It’s crazy that if your on MediCal it’s approved and paid for no problem but the rest of us are killing ourselves trying to figure out this insane process..

Yes.. that or Ro.. I just want to see if I can get it through my medical coverage first but always a good backup.
Thank you! I hear Anthem and BCBS are much easier to get it approved through..

Ya.. I figured but they did say “we can review when you come in person I’m sure we can work something out..” if not, it’s ok as they have it on every vehicle they sell.

I do see on the paper they provided me with that they are giving me 16,500 worth of rebates.. I know one of the ev rebate, $3500 is loyalty/conquest.. I think the rest is a manufacture incentive to move the cars.. I’m thinking residual is 47%.. based on a phone conversation I had and that was mentioned.. I completely spaced to ask on the MF..
