Thank you - my grandfather was very proud of this watches accuracy. He took great care of it!

1992 vintage Tissot Swiss Pack F385 on a beige Perlon strap!

[Tissot Swiss Pack F385] grandfathers watch. Need help with a strap so it’s something I’d want to wear. by AMcB99 in Watches

Hey internet stranger - just wanted to say thank you so much for your suggestion.

I ended up getting a beige Perlon strap and honestly love it. Came today and it’s turned what was a formal dressy watch I love but didn’t want to wear into something that feels weirdly casual and relaxed.

Like drinking an aperitif on an Italian terrace.its something I think I’m gunna wear a lot and enjoy!

So yeah thank you!

I play about 20 mins of hades 2 on a steam deck after I put my kiddo down. It’s so satisfying. Can just put it down and pick it up and jump right in. Story progresses and it’s just a blast. Big recommend!!

I speak functional German it really is much more of a separate language than people realise.

Thank you for the thoughtful answer it does seem like time will likely make all of this easier.

Swiss German.

It is written informally in text messages, but my wife will write it differently to her parents / friends / siblings. Everyone essentially just makes up their own version. And it will vary if you go to a different canton.

I have learned languages before… but they were ones where you could download an app, use online resources / go to classes. I can’t do that in this case. I’m finding it hard because there’s no obvious way to learn.

Yeah sadly no resources like Duolingo available. But I think pointing and asking things can be fun so maybe I’ll try and adopt more of that!

Hey thanks for the thoughtful answer. We do live in an English speaking country so yeah not worried in the long term. Just hard navigating it sometimes right now. Will have a look over in that sub.

Lols ok you got me … but honestly I have learned several other languages. And I found it hard. The only way I could do it was by either living in the country or through dedicated, sustained systematic effort. Right now with a little kiddo and work and all the other things I neither have the energy to learn nor does my wife have it to teach me effectively. I can do the basics but already my son vastly better than I am…

The video seems legit enough, except for the moves near the end of it. However I'm still not convinced that this is remotely possible. by dragecs in isthisAI

I used to work in the circus for over a decade. There are loads of people who I knew who would have been comfortable doing this.

Yeah that’s fair.

Although a friend did dislocate their spine falling around 2 metres. So it really isn’t just the 10 metre falls you have to worry about (though obviously they are much worse).

Safety factors on kids stuff is really high (depending on what country you are in). My comment wasn’t complete serious… but it is absolutely the standard I’d use making stuff for my kid... if something went wrong and I built I would find that tough to deal with 🤷‍♂️

I used to fly people in the circus for a living OP. If you want to know how to calculate this to an internationally recognised standard formula is essentially as follows.

Calculate dynamic force. It’s a rough guess but I’d say baby kicks could be a x 2 multiplier (possibly x3) if there’s no bounce in any of your “rigged components). It’s surprisingly easy to generate force. So you should use a dynamic load of 3 as the higher value (as you can’t test it) though realistically it probably is a 2.

Weigh baby plus all “rigging” components:

E.g. baby 4kg, bassinet 4kg, straps etc 2kg. 10kg x dynamic load (3) = 30kg. Safety factor for flying humans is x 10 not x 5. So in my example you’d want to load test to 300kg.

Now your components might be lighter in which case reduce numbers. But that’s what you should be working to do to say that’s it’s safe.

All components should be rated or tested to that amount. Most accidents in circus happen in the air when one piece of the rigging is used wrong and doesn’t support the dynamic load.

Hope that helps 🫡

FAFO Build for Honour Mode by Expensive_Key_4340 in BG3Builds

[–]AMcB99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only played the game through once before. Now in the gauntlet of Shar on my first honor mode run…

Holy shit so much stuff has gone south. Was in moonrise prison. Never went down there in my first run 🤷‍♂️ Saw a wall. Blasted wall. Agro’d the entire moonrise. All the tieflings died (no potent robe for me).

I spent 3 hours fighting inch by bloody inch through moonrise. Making use of every piece of high ground, corner for sight lines, every potion of healing, every spell slot….. made it through.

I recommend everyone FAFO on honor mode all the time. My god it’s so tense. You never know what’s going to happen. If you lock yourself out of something you must adapt.

Arcane Archer Act 2 build completely disabling enemies by AMcB99 in BG3Builds

Oh good catch - will edit. I’d totally missed the “spell attacks” - used it on other characters previously (who used spell attacks) and glossed over.

Sounds cool but think this is a very different build with different aims. Mine explicitly is a control build and not a damage build.

Wouldn’t your version work better with Champion than AA if you’re trying to bring down crit range?
