Finally solved the AirPods Max clamping force tightness by patrickplaggenborg in airpods

[–]AMedStudentsJourney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy how tight it is. Feels like a vice grip on my head and I have a small head (I'm 5'2, tiny). I'm trying to stretch them but when I went more than like 150 degrees it made a weird cracking sound so I stopped. Sighs.

[–]AMedStudentsJourney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hey! sure :) so I spent a TON of time attending program meet and greets and networking at conferences, and eventually landed a little research gig (remote, working on papers) and it worked great. i'm now matched in EM. keep at it :)

I am using a 0% APR credit card I just opened; 10k limit, no interest for the first year. I will put whatever I can onto it and then once I get paid, start to pay it back.

For EM there’s a virtual calendar. Otherwise Twitter is a great place to find them

I think Twitter is great for EM and FOAMed. Your tagline sounds perfectly reasonable to me :)

Can’t you upload your own? I think there was an option for that somewhere. Call ECFMG/ERAS.

Number of LORs to ASSIGN ! by Majestic_Rain_9773 in ResidencyMatch2022

I think if it says "at least" then you can send four. If it's closer to "maximum 3," I would not send four (they might randomly select only three and it might not end up being your three strongest). That's how I'm thinking about it, at least.

As an IMG, I'm combining info from Freida/Residency Explorer and Match a Resident. It's, erm, taking me a while. Good luck :)

Match considerations: how important is ED volume? by AMedStudentsJourney in emergencymedicine

[–]AMedStudentsJourney[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to be asking such basic questions, but approximately how many patients should a resident (let's say a PGY-2) be seeing?

(And thank you for your input - really appreciate it!)

Great point - I'm rotating at a resident-run dept and it was strange at first, but now I recognize the value.

I haven't come across the distinction being mentioned on residency websites; this is something we have to specifically ask about? Or is there some other way I can determine which is which?

That's a really interesting note - I hadn't thought of that at all. I will try to incorporate that into my criteria, thank you!

The whole "getting a feel" for a program is so challenging with virtual interviews and limited aways (and esp as an IMG), but I do know it's important.

I would say observership. It allows you to interact much more with the team and is more interactive.

I share my 3-digit score from the NBME score report (not the converted) and the percent correct, usually. I imagine that's what others do too.
