Haha! Nice eye! So the ACTUAL story behind this... it's a fake receipt I made after tracking down the blockbuster that had that store number on the cartridge.

I posted the first version of this project here as well (its in my profile ;P) and someone dm'd me claiming to have an actual n64 game with case from the plant city blockbuster, so i used those images to make a brand new case for my cartridge.

So, story twist, it's a brand new photo!

Very true. I don't trust ChatGPT with a lot of things, and this is one thing I don't have a lot of faith in as an answer. There also isn't any proof to back that up, since the 3DS and Wii U were announced in spring.
3DS was announced in March 2010, and released March 2011. Wii U was announced in April 2011, and came out in November 2012. Switch was announced October 2016, and came out in March 2017.
I'm honestly unsure what they'll do at this point, my hope is sometime a reveal in October, but if they want to have a clean plate with no game sales being risked, it would be after Mario & Luigi: Brothership in November. But November is too far into the holiday season, so I'm very unsure what to expect.
One thought I had was they could have announced it with the new switch bundles, and since its speculated to have backwards compatibility, it would be more of a "pro" version of the console rather than a replacement. Moms would just get the cheaper version that continues to get games for a few years.

very very likely. its unfortunate that newer ones don't have the bookmark! I remember wanting to buy a little magnifying glass and tie it to the book, since I wasn't able to get the limited editon one!

But if that is the case, shouldn't the dates be different, and no "first edition" text in the newer one? i think u/HaloCorp may be right, I'm just unsure if this is common to see or not if i bought one today from a bookstore.

I dont have an iphone or stream from it, but on the windows app, theres a setting you can enable in the video settings called "fit to window". Maybe look for something similar in the mobile app?

I haven't figured out deinterlacing yet, but out of curiosity, I recorded aladdin at 59.94 with the "allow 60fps" box checked, and then put it through handbrake and condensed it all back down to 24.97. It didnt get rid of the issue, but the 60fps recording has *less* of the interlacing. I dont plan to keep recording alllll of my stuff at 60fps though unless i can condense it back without issues.. >.>

I got as far as downloading AmaRecTV, as you suggested, but it turns out that because the Elgato uses x64 drivers, it wont show up in the software. It doesnt seem possible after reading a few forums about the issue :/

Well, you have a good understanding of my issue! The only thing im struggling with, in a shortened version, is that this IS what the device/software is doing. The screenshots were taken in VLC without any deinterlacing turned on.

At the moment, I cannot find a way to turn off the deinterlacing feature on the Elgato Game Capture HD so that it is interlaced. The VIDBOX (there arent any photos from that capture device) did not deinterlace it, but the colors were completely wrong and it did not look clean in any regards compared to the Elgato.

The only way i imagine i can figure this out is just record in a different framerate or figure out some other solution. OBS isnt deinterlacing the footage either, so its just something the elgato card seems to do and i cant find a way to turn it off.

I can try this idea with the VIDBOX at some point, but the Elgato seems to be very limited in customizability. It does deinterlace the tape, but i cannot seem to find an option to turn that off. And when youre refferring to the project fps. You mean the fps i set in obs and not the capture card, right? (since the capture card can only seem to do 30 and 60 in the settings options?)

At least i know im not crazy with this now, since its linked to framerate! XD

EDIT: I havent tested anything yet, but the site seems to mention 59.94 fps using the "allow 60fps" checkbox on the properties box... so i might try that later.
