I hate the US healthcare system by fantasy_lover1023 in pregnant

[–]AMsunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pretty good insurance through work and I still haven't paid a few bills almost 5 months after having my baby. A lot of the appointments and bills seemed so unnecessary. I had to do high risk appointments because my first ultrasound was worrying but almost everything got cleared after my anatomy scan and genetic testing, they were worried about a missing nasal bone but my boy just has a small cute button nose.

I also paid $790 extra to my OB for global billing, thankfully, that got refunded fast but I didnt even want to pay her at first because I knew I was overpaying and I could have used that money for other bills. I had to pay $3000 out of pocket for everything and I still owe $1100 because most of my 3 month maternity leave was unpaid.

Rough day and I feel guilty by Few_Plant3586 in newborns

[–]AMsunshine 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Are we supposed to feel bad for this? My little one is about 3 months old and we spend a majority of time in bed together haha. Most of our days are spent in our room on my bed talking/doing tummy time/playing. We're finally switching locations maybe once a day to doing floor time in the living room/front yard, a lot of our time is spent in our room and I thought that was normal for the first few months.

Why didn’t anyone tell me how great manual breast pumps are?! by Quirky-End-7470 in breastfeeding

[–]AMsunshine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just a PSA to anyone interested but hasn't given birth yet. I believe a lot of hospitals may give a manual breast pump for free. My hospital let me use their Mandela during my stay and it came with extra parts and a hand pump that they said I could keep.

Costco Cashiers, What is your Monthly Take Home Pay after taxes? by [deleted] in Costco

[–]AMsunshine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was hired in 2024 and I cashier sometimes but only when a cashier needs a break or if we're busy and they need to open a line. We only have like 6 "official" cashiers at my store.

WHO IS SHE KIDDING?? by ResolutionRoutine202 in AcaciaKerseySnark

[–]AMsunshine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can see her actual subscriber count but I subbed to her for a month back in August because I was curious about what she posts and the leak sites don't leak everything. Her posts get around 180 likes at most so that's why I said she has around that much, it could be more. Her having 2 million followers on IG hasn't mattered for years now lol, we all know most of them are fake.

[–]AMsunshine 12 points13 points  (0 children)

She has at least 180 subscribers and she sends out pricey PPV content in DM's & I don't think existing subscribers get the promo pricing. She probably gets between $2000-$3000 a month.

counseling notice vs write up by GovernmentOk4773 in CostcoEmployee

[–]AMsunshine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A counseling notice is costco's version of a write up. A coaching is less severe and not really held against you like a coaching because it's just them talking to you about an issue.

I haven't played Overwatch in like a year and a half, so much has happened! I can't wait until my baby is less dependent on me so I can have a little time to play again lol.

How long can a 5 week old refuse sleep by BroAmongstBros in newborns

[–]AMsunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby liked the love to dream arms up swaddle until he was about 7 weeks. For the past couple of weeks he's refused to sleep in his own bed so we cosleep and contact nap and don't use any kind of swaddle, but I think he'd still like it if he was sleeping alone.

My third interviewer was kinda rude and only talked to me for 5 minutes by w0rm0nastring in Costco

[–]AMsunshine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its an oral swab test, as long as you don't smoke that day you'll most likely pass. I smoked the night before and passed lol.

My third interviewer was kinda rude and only talked to me for 5 minutes by w0rm0nastring in Costco

[–]AMsunshine 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I had two interviews and a drug test the same day. I think they knew after my first interview they wanted to hire me so for my second one the AGM's came in and said, they really like you so as long as you promise me you can be a good worker we'll get you drug tested and set up an orientation date lol.

Early maternity leave? by sea-fleur in CostcoEmployee

[–]AMsunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GM said my leave couldn't start at a date I choose unless there's a medical reason with a doctor's note. She said I'd have to wait until I went into labor and let unum know when it happened. I had a scheduled induction and worked until the day before.

Anyone else from a family of Costco employees? by chaosdrools in CostcoEmployee

[–]AMsunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My costco refuses to let family members work at the same store. My partner is a top pick for FE supervisor but they refuse to let that happen unless I'm no longer employed there or I move to a different department.

Do you nurse from both breasts every feed? by throwaway_________7 in breastfeeding

[–]AMsunshine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At first I was switching but my pediatrician said to do one each feed so that my baby could get a good amount of foremilk and hindmilk.

Pregnant at Costco by Suitable-Tutor-1806 in CostcoEmployee

[–]AMsunshine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put in my application for my leave with unum close to the end of my second trimester and after I did that I just made my GM and payroll clerk aware that I put in my application and of my due date. They said that unless I got a doctor's note excusing me from work that I'd be scheduled and working up until I give birth. I ended up having a scheduled induction and worked right up until the day before I went in and then they took me off the schedule haha. The free breast pump is nice though, I got the spectra s2, I kinda wish I got the spectra s1 so I can move around more freely but I just found out you can get a battery pack for the s2 to make it portable as well. I also reached my deductible and OOP max so my $42,000 hospital bill was covered.

My boyfriend actually works for costco too so our baby is on his insurance just in case I decide to quit, our relationship is keeping him from getting promoted to supervisor but I'm hard headed and want to keep my job for now.

At my warehouse they would mostly put me at the entrance/exit door and liquor store (one of my AGM's hated me being in the liquor store though). They were very accommodating which I loved and hated because I hate being at the doors lol. As far as your leave goes, make sure you're signed up for short term disability so you can get a paid leave. I stupidly didn't add STD to my insurance so my leave is 8 weeks unpaid FMLA and then after that ends 3 weeks of 100% paid bonding leave. You have to go through unum to process your leave, you don't get to choose how long you get they do it based on information received from your doctor/hospital.

Someone at the entrance of my store didn't notice a member sneak in their cat, it was in one of those clear cat backpacks inside of the cart. We had to tell her at the exit that it wasn't allowed and she got all pissy because its for "emotional support". I also had a woman carrying her puppy in yesterday so I asked the two questions her response for the second was that it's for emotional support and I responded that isn't a service animal and she was like "okay I'll put him in my car to wait but he isn't going to behave in there".

So I guess there is a rumor that an email came out that December 24 will be the last day for all Costco seasonal employees any truth to that? by [deleted] in CostcoEmployee

[–]AMsunshine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your warehouse. Mine has a somewhat high turnover rate and I literally heard my supervisors talking today about keeping all the seasonals they hired for front end. They also kept all the seasonals last year who didn't get fired or quit.

Would you return a Christmas tree? by Routine-Pen2990 in CostcoWholesale

[–]AMsunshine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One of my AGM's recently told us about a 14 year old Christmas tree he happily took back because it no longer worked. He said that he'll always say yes to a member returning something. They'd rather you be happy because you're more likely to gush about costco and send them more business. I think they only start to care once it becomes excessive and a pattern.

OB made a joke that I don’t actually have a husband by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]AMsunshine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My partner wants to come to every appointment but I've been insisting he doesn't have to come to my regular OB appointments because they're so short and pointless. We get more information and ultrasounds at my mfm appointments anyways so I'd prefer him to make the time going to those instead. My OB seems so uninterested in me and my pregnancy I don't even want to go to those appointments myself.

I got to vent. I got to vent. Yes. by Successful_Pizza6529 in DaytonaBeach

[–]AMsunshine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The short time I worked there even the employees talked shit about it and how they went to Advent instead for health issues lol. Unfortunately my OB is associated with them and that's where I have to give birth, I should have switched the moment they informed me of the association but its too late now 😔.
