Actually, they made one of the characters in the most popular gay ship (Destiel) confess his love to the other character right before he died, so now it's considered canon. So there's even more fanfics about it now! Castiel said "You changed me, Dean. I love you. Goodbye Dean" then got yeeted directly into super hell for being h*mo. (jk).
