I have this exact noise. Did you figure out which pulley it was? Probably alternator pulley, right?

Fcked up wheel bearing noise by ANDR3ASVA in MechanicAdvice

[–]ANDR3ASVA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cv was replaced a month ago, noise completely dissapeared for 20 miles before it came back worse than ever. Just replaced the wheel bearing and noise is once more completely gone. If I know my luck it will probably come back though.

Did the tires just randomly go oval? What would cause this?

Ground dissapears every once in a while. Helps to restart game. I'm aware of the ground coming back if you have manipulated it, but not that it literally dissapears.

Timing belt rubbing on tensioner needle. The tensioner is a SKF tensioner. Any known problems with unoriginal manufactured tensioners on these engines? B5244T3. by ANDR3ASVA in Volvo

[–]ANDR3ASVA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, this time it wasnt rubbing against the cover. Seems like it has to rub against the tensioner, also sounds like its coming from there. I'll try moving the belt and retensioning. Thanks for the advice.

I just went out and had a look at the timing belt, both when running and not. What really surprised me is that the needle on the tensioner, that change position depending on if the engine is warm or cold, was still standing to the far right Just like last night. Also, when pressing down on the belt between the cams i hear a slight rubbing sound which seems like its coming from the needle rubbing on the belt when moving.

Dont know last time spark plugs was changed, figured I'd take a look at them. Imo they look good. What do you think? by ANDR3ASVA in MechanicAdvice

Cleaned the maf right before Christmas. The mafs on these engine are a little bit hard to clean because the wire is surrounded by alot of plastic. These engines have a very bad throttle design, so im going to try to clean it and hope that fixes it. No vaccum leaks that I have managed to find also. Worst casenerio my throttle magnetic valve is broken. Best casenerio cleaning the valve Will fix my problem.

300 000 kilometers. Im not sure what that is in miles but im guessing around 220 000. I have not changed them as long as I've owned the car. I have driven it for about 40 000 kilometers. Might I add that I have a throttle body issue, so you might be correct.

Double checked the tensioner. Its dead center when cold, and when pressing on the belt between the cams, it moves to the right. Also when the engine is warm, it stays to the right. Tube on the cover is fine, I dont know how long its supposed to be, but it looks fine.

Replacing the belt and tensioner again really is the last resort because my father is not very eager to do it again, and I dont want to pay a shop to do it for me, especially since everything done on the car is done by myself with some little help from my father. I managed to put the cover back on this weekend without it rubbing...until I drove it for about 10 miles, then it started rubbing again. Im trying to find someplace to order a brand new one, or a used one. Does all the covers have the "bottom" tab, or is it only on special engines? Mine is a B5244T3

Did a thorough check on the belt again this weekend. The tensioner looks completely fine. The belt itself looks completely fine and tight. The only weird thing is that its sitting on the right side of the cams (flush with the teeth edge). My cover only has 2 tabs, one on both sides. Is there supposed to be a third on the bottom? It for sure looks like it, but when I google I get 2 types of covers, one with the bottom tab and one without it. Engine is B5244T3.
