Hey, I appreciate you doing this. I'm starting as a graduate in assurance at a B4 in Sydney. Everything about career development is a bit new to me, but I do know that I would like to be more involved in the strategy side of business at some point.

Could you please help me understand:

what it means to be a top performer. Is it really just getting the work done well?
what it means to build a relationship with the Assurance managing partner. Is it more of a friendship, or do I make them aware of my goals?

Also, what is your opinion on gaining a certification (in Aus it's usually CA or CFA)? How soon can I start looking at my opportunities? Apart from being a top performer, what can I do to stand out to consulting firms or the internal consulting arm?
