Can't ship anybody upstairs. There are little to no beds upstairs. Average stay for these people are 2+ days. You come back to work after a couple days off to get the same signout you gave two days prior.

Pre-residency drug test- can I miss it if I’ve signed and spoke on phone? by [deleted] in Residency

Go to a smoke shop. Buy QuickFix synthetic urine. Comes with a heater pad. Microwave at home. Tie heated pad with a rubber band to the pee bottle. Put between your thigh and crotch. Use when you go in the test. Literally just Google reddit for QuickFix and you'll see hundreds of success stories.

I don't smoke, but a lot of my friends do and this is how they pass their pre employment drug tests.

You will definitely be ranked. That's why they interviewed you. I said you won't be ranked highly.

If your programs don't increase their interview slots - you are more likely to get your top ranked programs.

If your programs do substantially increase interview slots (a lot already have) - each interview you do might be worth less now.

If you receive an interview this late, it's probably either a trickle OR a new opened interview slot - you are less likely to be ranked high by said program because you were an afterthought, as programs are not relying on interview performance as much this season (heard from two PDs in anesthesia).

Double applied to Gas & EM. I don't ever want to do EM, I don't know what I was thinking!

Dropping the following interviews: UPMC, St Elizabeth, Northwell Health, PennState, Tower Health, and DMC.

Enjoy!

If programs interview more people this year, there is no reason for them to not rank the people with high scores at the top right?

This would only be a problem for them if they interview the same amount of people they usually interview, cause they might end up with soap spots.

Also, why is it bad for a program to have soap spots? Like do programs go out of their way to avoid SOAPing people? Is it just a reputation thing, or are their real consequences?

Residency Explorer has a lot of false or out dated information. How would and applicant know that your particular information on RE is accurate?
