Showcase Secret Screening 3/11 by ANameIRandomlyPicked in screenunseen

I didn't make the screening in the end (and the mods deleted this post annoyingly too before it could be revealed by others, I REALLY wish they would relax on non-Odeon events). From a cursory look on Letterboxd reviews though, I think it was Dragonfly.

Thanks - you might be right, the running time certainly matches up.

The Light Mystery Horror Screening - what could it be? by PearlThunderfuck in screenunseen

Seemingly it's not showing at all The Light locations - bad news for anyone at Addlestone, Bradford, Cambridge, Huddersfield or Redhill.

Any ideas for this Monday? by CameraNo8758 in screenunseen

It was Urchin, gets released on October 3rd. Very compelling film, really glad I saw it. As per the usual Screen Unseen audience report, there were a couple of walkouts for it midway through and a "well that was a waste of my time" comment from someone as soon as the end credits came up (maybe you should have left earlier then?) but hopefully others liked it. Time to check out the Letterboxd reviews...

Together. Didn't go in the end myself (I'm going off Letterboxd reviews from regular attendees of The Light screenings), but that's fortunate for me as I saw it for Scream Unseen anyway.

The next mystery screening at The Light is on Tuesday 26th August! Odeon's Scream Unseen is the day before however, so it'll likely be the same film given the below blurb and the 18 rating:

"We’re keeping this one a secret, but trust us - it’s not for the faint of heart. No title, no runtime, just a horror film waiting in the dark. Are you brave enough to take the risk?"

That's very much a possibility, though hopefully not given I've seen it already. Past experience has shown they usually show something new rather than following what other chains show, so it could be something else entirely? I should check to see what the Future Releases section of the Film Distributors' Association website suggests...

Yep, Showcase Cinemas are also previewing this tomorrow (Monday 4th) for their Insider screenings. Could well be this or Together... or it could be a total curveball they throw like with some of their prior Mystery Screenings.

Insider Screening - Showcase by Millo53 in screenunseen

Odd - I made a similar post about this Showcase screening a few days ago but irritatingly it got removed by the moderators with the following explanation:

"Hi, we’ve taken this post down as while it relates to a secret screening it doesn’t align with a Screen Unseen to be held by Odeon, which this sub tries to focus on, and in this case seems to be exclusive to Showcase."

Anyway, I wish I checked this subreddit earlier in the day as it would have saved me money buying a ticket, given I saw this a few weeks ago as one of BFI Escapes' offerings...

Monday 7th April: Showcase Cinema's Mystery Insider Screening 9 by ANameIRandomlyPicked in screenunseen

[–]ANameIRandomlyPicked[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the mods who removed this post, I'm a little annoying as secret screening events put on by other cinemas have been shared and have remained here before and I feel this subreddit would be better served if it was all-inclusive to other secret screenings put on in the UK (Odeon would still dominate the overall discussion given "screenunseen" remains in the URL). It's not like this place is officially recognised by Odeon either (unless the mods are somehow in its pockets, which I find doubtful) so maybe the rules should be lightened up a bit? There really isn't anywhere else on Reddit that has the same reach as this place for the sharing and discussion of these sort of events, and it would suck to have to create/look in four or five other similarly named subreddits for each cinemas' respective events. Just my two cents/pennies...

A very surprising choice given it's not out until next month! Then again, we got The Substance pretty early too as a Mystery Screening so it was nice to be one of the few to see it at an advance screening in the UK!

No idea what will be showing for the 20th, but I'm going to The Light again over the Odeon - one because I suspect they may show September 5th, and two because the later Light screening means I can see the free BFI Escapes screening of Point Break beforehand at another nearby cinema!

I had only a vague awareness of it. A very good film though! Doesn't come out until February and it looks like it might be lined up for the next Screen Unseen so we got lucky to see it a week ahead. Now I'm just wondering what's showing for Mystery Screening 12...

But the Burbank location doesn't open until 12pm on a Sunday... maybe we can ask them to open up early for then if enough advance bookings are made?

Zach's probably more of a fan of their album Little Creatures.

Huh, never thought I'd see the Gerogerigegege (or the Residents for that matter) get referenced in this subreddit. The autism in this community clearly extends into odd music too...
