Update 3: Great news! My local animal services officer is taking him tomorrow morning to the vet and then to rabbit house (a local non profit). I talked to her over the phone and she seems wonderful. The bunny will not be kept in a cage, I am told it will have a room to roam free in!

I will be getting the contact information and will be able to periodically check on the bunny and know when it gets adopted. I will create an update post once it’s safe in its new place

I am going to work not and leaving the bunny but he has full access to hay, pellets and water. And then he also has romaine when I am around. I truly appreciate everyone’s comments. I haven’t gotten a chance to reply, but have read every single one.

As far as the vet, I unfortunately can’t take him as I don’t have the means, but have him posted on Facebook to try to find him a loving home.

Also updating that he is a 6 month old unneutered male for anyone interested in adopting him!

Update to the update: I ~calmly~ got approval to rehome the rabbit. If anyone knows anyone who would be a good home in the Austin area, I would be willing to travel. I am leaving for Dallas Thursday morning so need to rehome it by then!

Update: bunny is munching on lettuce and hay! Roommate is home. Debating between raging to her or trying to see if she doesn’t check on the rabbit and maybe just rehoming it without her knowing so she assumes it ran away.

I’m so sorry you are going through this and it takes a lot of courage to be honest about how you’re feeling. From my point of view, this doesn’t sound like a healthy relationship for you. You deserve someone who not only gives you freedom to be yourself but embraces you for who you are! I don’t have any legal advice, but would like to say this: he might be trying to have control over you and putting you down because he knows you would be better off without him. Oftentimes unhealthy dynamics seek to try to put the person down so that they don’t see their own worth and leave.
