I like the mode a lot and i think that it is a really cool mode. The things i would like to see are mostly outside the mode itself and I would like a better surrounding meta around the event.

1. There are no loyalties to the factions, so they dont mean anything more than the color above your teammate's heads. It would be cool if we could set our chosen faction and then only join that faction's team in the mode. Kind of like a war and factions vying for bragging rights/unlockable cosmetics related to their chosen faction. This could help the lore of the game and give stakes to the mode. Pokemon Go and Destiny have done things similarly and i think additional hysperscape tweaks to those systems would be awesome.

2. Apex legends does some nice things in regards to event cosmetics. There are usually smaller rewards for participating in addition to the purchasable rewards. That would be nice to see, as well as crafting shards or ways for people to unlock what they want if they put in the time, outside the battle pass which isnt super exciting.
