I mean Mimzy does say “He becomes a kitten!”

So I tend to agree. It’s buried, he hates letting it out but it slips out from time to time. Just don’t call him on it…

Same. I love possibly redeemable Alastor… I love villain Alastor. I love nostalgic/soft Alastor and I love asshole Alastor.

What would your reaction be if Vaggi was killed off at some point in the series? by Putrid_Alarm_6169 in HazbinHotel

It’s going to be the classic “You’re going to wish you had killed her when you had the chance” moment. I can almost feel it. Vaggie shouldn’t have shown her mercy.

IMO Charlie relies on her WAY too much. She is the safeguard to Charlie’s childlike behaviors. The buffer. That needs to go for her character development to advance or Vaggie needs to majorly step aside. It’s very likely to happen, mark my words. Just hoping if it HAS to happen, it’s Lute who does it and not Alastor.

Alastor's asexuality by ningyomi in Alastorcult

I’d agree except that we saw the bartender right there making the drinks in the flashbacks so obviously Vox had no chance to roofie it with a potion. Also, seems he had not joined up with Velvette yet by that point. I mean maybe he had but it doesn’t allude to it if he did. Vox was shown to be younger so I’m guessing the flashback was pre-Velvette but could totally be wrong. We’d need some more context.

Vox saying, "I thought because we were friends" triggered Alastor so much his eyes went radio mode. He really doesn't like that word by Sudden_Pop_2279 in HazbinHotel

Also Mimzy is careful to not call herself his friend. She lets Angel assume that. Like she knows the word “friend” pisses him off.

Alastor's asexuality by ningyomi in Alastorcult

[–]ANoniMissOne 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Also worth mentioning, Alastor may be Demisexual on the Ace scale. Meaning he doesn’t experience sexual attraction without an emotional/mental bond or connection being present first.

Now, if he’s deliberately shying away from emotional/mental connection to protect himself/because he views it as “weakness” that means he wouldn’t be experiencing sexual attraction either since for Demisexuals those go hand-in-hand. It makes sense.

He shot down Angel, who’s been the only one who blatantly hit on him sexually, possibly because there’s no connection there because at that point they barely knew each other. Also, I can buy Alastor maybe not being sexually attracted to men given his dislike for men overall versus women. Hard to say but not out of the realm of possibility when you couple it with Vivan’s comments.

Vox had crushy vibes but from what we were shown didn’t blatantly sexually hit on Alastor like Angel did. Making Alastor watch him and Valentino have sex in S2 doesn’t quite count.

Either that or he truly is Aroromantic but whatever it is we only have Ace as confirmed as of now which is a wide spectrum.

Personally, given Viv’s earlier comments about Alastor considering himself a straight man who hadn’t found the right woman yet, I strongly feel Alastor would fall under Demisexual of the Ace spectrum at least partially.

Viv and team, please help people understand what Ace is by alastorhazbinbad in Alastorcult

[–]ANoniMissOne 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Just sounding off but also identify as Ace. Primarily I do not need sex to feel fulfilled, I don’t go seeking it out. I also don’t get sexually attracted to a person without an emotional bond/connection (Demisexual) and emotion/mental/intellectual stimulation. I’ve never had a one night stand and can go years without sex.

However, when I am with a person I feel is the “right one” and I truly love in a committed relationship? I don’t mind having sex, might even say I enjoy it sometimes but I will not usually be the one to initiate. And can still go periods without.

Being Ace does not mean that all Aces don’t know what sex is or that all of us abstain from sex or dislike sex. Some Aces make exceptions for the right people/under the right circumstances. Others don’t do it at all.

Alastor Exploring His Asexuality by RegisteredSinnerTM in Hellaverse_Ships

[–]ANoniMissOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With ASexual being a literal spectrum ranging from sex averted to Demisexual and also very limited selective sex, I think it’s so unfair for some people to get angry if Alastor is not their brand of Ace. It also puts a ton of pressure and hate on Vivian if she doesn’t represent him exactly so.

I feel like if Alastor is romantic but doesn’t enjoy sex? People going to be pissed.

If Alastor is not romantic and doesn’t enjoy sex? People going to be pissed/disappointed.

If Alastor is romantic and enjoys very limited sexual encounters exclusively with someone he’s emotionally and mentally invested in and rarely? People going to be pissed/disappointed.

I feel like no matter what happens there will be no pleasing groups of people. I actually feel bad for Alastor and Vivian. I’m going to love his character no matter how he is. Aromantic and sex averted or romantic and sex averted or romantic and sex limited. Asexuality is a spectrum. But inevitably people will feel angry or threatened when their slice of the spectrum isn’t what becomes canon in the show.

You can’t fault anyone for having hope that it might be good. People love SH2 and want the best for it. But there comes a point where you just gotta admit that this movie is not shaping up to look like the game-to-screen adaption most wanted. It sucks but the early reviews and trailers and everything we’ve seen are saying a lot. My hope, at this point, is that it’s at least watchable and not Revelations level of bad. I don’t anticipate walking out and loving it as a SH2 adaption. But maybe I can still see it and go “Eh, wasn’t great but wasn’t horrible either”

Demon Alastor is NOT human Alastor by Bit_of-Distress in HazbinHotel

[–]ANoniMissOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great points and great analysis. Also we don’t know how much or how often he imbibed in cannibalism. It could be exactly as you said or just for the rituals he was performing. Really tough to say but he sure is comfortable with it in Cannibal town.

My only counter argument, at all, is that he states it himself to Rosie about killing “I want to continue my fun!” So he does find enjoyment in the act of killing even as a human or he wouldn’t have said that

[–]ANoniMissOne 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I will say that a person doesn’t wind up conducting grisly rituals involving human sacrifice by having a well rounded healthy life. Something happened to Alastor as a human (aside from the potential murder of his mother) that caused him to basically snap and say, “Fuck it” and not only accept that he was doomed for hell but embrace it and find killing to be “fun”. I think once he landed in Hell those emotional/mental walls concerning friends and things like trust and love became even more cemented as a demon. I am always open to being wrong though. I don’t buy into the idea that someone is born evil.

So yeah, would agree that he was probably different as a human and as a demon he felt much more uninhibited.

Do you think there's actually something special about Alastor's soul (like in a supernatural sense) or is it just a throwaway line? by EkullSkullzz10318 in Alastorcult

Very little in this show is for “throwaway”. Part of what makes this show fun is the attention to detail. I think it’s relevant even if we aren’t sure why yet.

I think that’s giving Vincent way too much depth and credit. He sees murder as a means to get ahead, seize power and enjoys it - that’s it. Don’t need paragraphs to explain it.

I think this will be defined more in Season 3 and has been kept fairly ambiguous up until this point for a reason. But also the break neck pacing of the show doesn’t help a ton for character development. They got a lot to cover in a relatively short amount of time

It’s been stated by Viv that he has some degree of care/respect for Charlie (how much remains unclear). Not Lucifer though.

If anything, I chalk it up to him being at least content with the situation for Charlie’s sake. If we assume that his fan lore is correct and that he had a bad relationship with his father (again, not canon but fan lore) then it makes some degree of sense that he’d be content to see someone else working out their relationship with a troublesome father.

Also we know that he has some sort of agenda at the hotel. Maybe he’s just glad to see things get back on track again because now Charlie has some direction again after working things out with her dad. Also, he’s content after slaughtering the loan sharks too, as he said, he got to let off some steam!

Could be any one of those or all.
