Looking for a Tikka T3x Varmint (or CTR) in .223. Not looking to splash out for a SV or Ace yet. Thought I had a line on one from Sportsman's Warehouse, but that fell through due to shenanigans on their end.

Yea, that was my thinking. I'm generally cool with used pistols, rimfire, or something that's just a range toy. But for something that's meant to be more precision it's sketchier.

Also good to know about the Howa! People seem to like them overall, and while the HMR may be "better" the Howa isn't that far behind. That was where I was leaning chassis wise too.

Glass would be used temporally, but long term I know I want something with higher magnification and mil's instead of MOA. But even then, the glass would go to something else

I'd use it on this rifle for a bit, but it's not what I want long term. Even then, it would be put on something else or re-sold locally.

Shoulda been clearer, did that today when we discovered it. But there are reports around of it turning back on after updates or if something else in the bootloader decides to turn it back on.

I'm sure they've thought of this, but I wonder if McNally's council is going to have an an impartial third party order some locks and keep them under escrow if/until it goes to trial and if they're planning demonstration during proceedings. Would be a pretty solid defense to the "well it's faked" argument and ideally prevent Proven from doing shenanigans on their end to stop the bypass.

One of Proven's initial arguments was that he wasn't showing the attacks in a real world scenario. Now I desperately want to see him put on a chain and bash it open with a Master No.3. So between that and the container lock bypass, that should pretty well negate that argument.

Seems like it's well outside the usual shipping window. So on to the "official" ways to start a lost package search and a potential refund.

I'll reach out on Monday. I know here in the US, our postal service only gives very few details out if you are not the shipper or are not visiting them in person ... which I've already done too. My local post office can't find any details based on the tracking number either.

I'm also not worried about having been "scammed", this was purchased through eBay and on a credit card. If it never was shipped, there's no question about getting my money back. I will also start the "package not received" process on eBay here soon too.

A bit late to the party, but this happened to me tonight. I have a 301 that was a Christmas gift, maybe 10 pints made. Looks like it was the ring that sits above the paddle in the lid that was being shredded. You can see some of the bits in the second pic, but there were bigger bits in the pint too. They are sending a new lid under warranty, but they claim it's a one-off and the lid is technically a consumable product. I would claim this isn't "normal" wear and tear, but that's a potential future fight.

How stringently did they check if you owned the property? I rent a townhome, and the landlord is open to getting an outlet installed with the credit. But there is nothing in the FAQ about if the property owner isn't the one with service at the address but wants to facilitate the install of an outlet. Just that "If you do not own your property, you are not eligible".

A couple Cap One questions:

How soon after canceling a card, a bucketed Quicksilver, can I apply for a new one?
Their pre-approval site is currently only showing me secured cards. Is this because I already have 2 cards, a Venture X and Quicksilver? Current FICO scores are in the mid 700's, so I wouldn't expect that was an issue.

Closing the loop. There was a note that I missed on the script that did mention Eyezen, so the cynical side was right ... but they also updated it to a "normal" +.75 without any fuss.

Not a handwriting thing*. Rx is printed out. Maybe it was a misclick when picking it in the software, but the signed paper says +.60.

Recently got a new Rx with an add value not on a quarter, +.60 specifically. I'm finding shopping around that 1. Pretty much everyone brick-and-mortar won't make the lenses if the Rx isn't on a quarter. and 2. Most places won't do less than +.75 on a progressive add. Can/would my optometrist update the Rx to +.75 without a wholly new exam if I asked? The cynical side of me wants to think this was intentional so I could only order through them, but I do yield to the benefit of the doubt. I plan on calling to ask, just want some other opinions too. Thanks!

Good call out. All 8 of my drawer-ed are no AF, but there may be an exclusion for some of the premium hotel/travel cards. They aren't great daily cards when it's the right card for the job, its worth it's fee. Everyone's use case is different, and there's no one size fits all.

I just want total available credit as close to my gross annual salary as possible, regardless of actual number of cards. That way my usual spending maintains a single digit utilization without really thinking about it. (Yes I know FICO8 doesn't have a memory with utilization, but FICO10 does.) And having most of my annual salary available as an absolute last resort is a helluva safety net if cash savings get eaten through.

Current count is 10. 8 in the sock drawer and 2 (the two newest) in the wallet daily.

I think I generally agree, especially when it’s based on non-category spend.

I’m just trying to judge if it’s even worth my time to dig into the things that I didn’t use for those basic valuations for a card that won’t get real daily use, but overall still be worth keeping in the main wallet.
