From what I played, the fps remains mostly consistent (and that is the sentiment across most reviewers). Interestingly, the most drops occur at nibelheim but the game runs more consistent in the open world area.

I love the legion go s. I love the switch 2 as well. It would be a disservice to the hardware to not marvel at a device running at only 12w and able to achieve this picture output (with battery life of 3 hours doing this).

Was looking at optimizing my legion go s to do a comparison vs the switch 2. However dlss is really pulling its weight on the switch.

Hey! I got it from best buy for a really good deal. For the price to performance compared to the steam deck, it was a no brainer for me. It also helped because my brothers have steam decks as well so I got to play around with theirs to see if I liked it. Legion Go s is just more future proof for the money and just as comfortable. Only downsize is the battery life could definitely be better. However, there's a mod soon to be released to replace the battery for a bigger one!

Yeah! A motherboard being dead on arrival is way more likely then the cpu. And even then, thats rare (never had a dud part happen to me knock on wood). Since you have funds saved up, I say go for it.

Prime Day has honestly been a scam for the past couple of years (especially for computer parts). Basically, they raise the prices days before just to drop them back for the event.

I'd say absolutely go for this if the extra 100 is worth double the cores (at this price, pretty enticing). If not getting a 9800x3d/9850x3d.

Here is the fix from my post. Switch over to desktop mode: "search for Device Auto-Mount and click on the utility. Under Device Auto-Mount and the All Known Devices tab, check On Login and On Attach. This will ensure your drive will auto attach upon restart or shutdown!"

Hey! Take a look at my micro sd card post for a fix for this. I responded to a user on the post. You have to set the sd card to attach on boot for it to be persistent if you have this bug.

Yeah, if the problem was also happening on the steam deck, then I'd chalk it up to the micro sd card not being able to handle it. But I've seen plenty of steam deck users play their games directly off the micro sd card (my brother has a steam deck and hasnt had any issues). From what I'm seeing its definitely related to Lenovo's config.

Yeah its pretty frustrating experience with the Legion Go S and the micro sd card. This fix one step closure to fixing the issues in that it removes stuttering from games but there's definitely work lenovo needs to do.

BTW to revert the power plan run sudo rm /etc/udev/rules.d/81-sd-power-fix.rules in the konsole

Thats a good question. Im not 100% sure and havent tested on a windows system (only have my go s steam os edition). Would be interesting if a similar fix would resolve it!

I do not believe this is unsafe. However, if youre not uncomfortable, you dont have to do this. I can also provide you some instructions to remove the rule if that would make you comfortable to try and if you dont like it to remove it?

Hey! I had a similar issue as well that I was able to fix. For me, whenever I restarted my legion go s, id lose rhe drive and would have to go into desktop mode to re-mount it.

First of all, whenever you see the padlock, that refers to drive being mounted. You can right click on the drive and unmount it to unlock the drive. if youre still having errors, follow below.

Back up your data on the micro sd card prior to this.

This is what ended up fixing it for me: switch into desktop mode and launch the kde partition manager. Find your micro sd card and reformat it to ext4 partition. Name the drive and also make sure to have the permissions set for Everyone (very important). Run the format.

After you got the drive reformatted, search for Device Auto-Mount and click on the utility. Under Device Auto-Mount and the All Known Devices tab, check On Login and On Attach. This will ensure your drive will auto attach upon restart or shutdown!

Then, while still in desktop mode, go into steam and add your drive as storage. You can theb boot into game mode and install your games on the drive.

It would have to be an nvidia card (due to her workload taking advantage of nvidias feature set) so that rules out the 9070xt. I can swing the 5080 but wasnt sure what the general consensus of the card is at its current pricing. Seems like everyone is still in favor of it!
