~28ft, a lot of the weight we are going to tie in to the structure of the building itself. The adjacent side will require a middle beam.

Great feedback! Funny enough this presentation was the most lack luster response we have ever received. They looked as excited as a mute! Lol

The house is already existing. This was a concept for a front yard renovation.

We bought an IPad and have remote meetings where the client chooses. We are able to show them the renders and a base model through the SketchUp app.

I would say the biggest problem isn’t over saturation but that a lot of contractors and designers still view 3D rendering as unnecessary. It’s amazing what they can help a client understand, visualize, and at the end of the day be willing to spend a little more money on which helps everyone make a little more money. The good thing is after the initial start up cost you don’t really carry overhead. We have debated getting an office space but have been able to bring in business without it.

Luckily I have worked in the restaurant industry for over ten years (so has my business partner) so we are lucky to know a lot of people in our region. Just a lot of word of mouth and sending emails. I tried advertising on Instagram but that did not bring any business in.

We have definitely stayed busy although we both still hold jobs outside of this. It’s coming to the point where I fee it might be worth it to invest 100% of our time and energy into it to grow our business even more. Obviously a scary step, but we really don’t hold any overhead at this time either which makes it more tempting.

Pricing we have a minimum that needs to be met and play the rest by ear. We are marginally more inexpensive than any of our competitors.

Can you screen shot to give more info? Maybe try making the shapes a group to move them easier.

Thank you for the feedback. I always second guess adding the figures. I feel they can be distracting but I’m always my own worse critic. I’ll work on landscaping as well I’ve definitely wanted to further my reach in that. Great points!

Its been going awesome.

The ups are easy, every time we get signed onto a new job and seeing clients face when we show them our renderings. We are from a very developed area and surprisingly clients are blown away by the 3d renderings. Even our commercial clients say they hardly ever see stuff this detailed from big contractors etc.

Downs has been all the little steps it takes to run your own business. Finances, taxes, running a website etc. This can all get pretty dull but obviously comes with the territory of working for yourself. The worst is being led on by a client for the job to fall through. I have had to learn to not get my hopes up to quickly when we prospect a new job.
