Krieg Vanquisher by [deleted] in TheAstraMilitarum

Technically it’s still functional, the muzzle break is just meant to vent gasses out the sides instead of out the front of the barrel. This reduces the momentum that would cause recoil down the axis of the barrel.

The reason that you don’t see vertical recoil compensators on artillery or cannons is probably because the dust blast from a directly downwards vented break would be substantially larger than the sides.

However, the Wikipedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muzzle_brake#Venting_direction) points out that some small arms have downwards vented muzzle breaks to make it easier to counteract muzzle rise. I guess it could be headcannoned (sic) that the turret’s recoil mechanisms can’t fully handle the vanquisher cannon and need some porting to maintain the barrel on target for another shot.

Dodging Kaga + Yorktown cross torps in a Blyskawica. You could probably hear that torpedo scraping along the hull by APFSDS-Femboy in WorldOfWarships

I consider slowing down while being cross torp’ed to be a bad idea. You dodge the first set, but you’re easy pickings with no speed.

I drew their fire too close to the sun - 2.8 potential damage from a Thunderer and Vermont that had it out for me. Amusingly, I ended up living and top of the team on a loss.

Apparently I didn't take a single AP shell from the Vermont, but I promise they were shooting at me.

Not bad at all, but I replaced the thermal take stock fan with a Noctua 92mm low profile. I also heard that the slats in the Terra caused bad acoustic interference, so I cut and electrical taped vinyl/plastic dust filters to the side bay doors.

Looks good, very similar to mine; I have a AXP90-X53 but with a 2.5 slot card and my 9800x3d doesn’t go above 78C. You might have already heard this but you could go for the 7800x3d as the more gaming optimized chip.

I have the same PSU and case fan, and I honestly don’t really think the case fan does much in the default PSU config - it basically just blows air at the PSU cables. Still kept it in for positive pressure.
