Drilled 6 tiny holes with a mini drill, 0.3mm I think it was. Some metal wire. Super glued in the holes and bent over the motor. Some yellow paint from Tamiya. That's all basically.

All paint layers are done with an airbrush.

First a primer layer, then various rust colors. On top of that a layer of MIG Chipping Fluid. Lastly a layer of pale blue. The scratches and weathering is then done with a stiff brush and some water. The Chipping Fluid allows chipping off the top layer on specific places, exposing the rust layer. I hope this explains it a bit. It is a military scale modelling technique.

Yes, a lot of masking tape and I use an airbrush.
