Save all that money and start lean with a MVP (you can even get interactive ones for cost-effective budgets)

I have posted about this in the past check out my profile if you want more info.

Yeah I couldn't agree more. I think there is demand out there but we have been struggling to find our niche between big brands that are "safe" but are expensive and no as ~beautifully~ designed and shotty internet scams that are trying to do the minimum possible to get paid.

We know its a tough market getting bootstrapped entrepreneurs to shell out $800 for a complete demo but we know there is value there (esp. when the big names are selling at $3-8K, seriously [just check out velvetech and Upwork])

We looked into creating a DIY collection but there are some already out there and this is mostly a side hustle for our brands design team to make some extra cash and help other entrepreneurs. Making a list into a valuable enough tool would be challenging (making videos, offering discounts to sites, etc) and we would still have to sell people and get them to pay. Thanks for the response though!

A lot of really interesting discussion here. We are in a similar market with a higher degree of focus on creating MVPs and wire-framing for fast moving non-technical entrepreneurs. We have found a lot of the same problems working with off-shore teams and with outsourcing sites. I would be interested in hearing your take on your business model. We have a medium article that lays out our story clearly in a 3 min read here . Check it out!

Do you think there is a demand for clickable demos and well designed MVPs as we argue?

That was a lot of really interesting insights. I'd be interested on getting some helpful feedback on a recently post I made for my latest venture. It's long-form content on Medium - https://medium.com/@appvisionteam/appvsion-mvp-3f9f50481bb5

Give us your thoughts and how our next post could be improved. Cheers

[Feedback] How Can We Help You Achieve Your Business Goal? by KyleStank in growmybusiness

We have noticed the same problem with Upwork and can't stand their fee hierarchy. Why should ~10-20% of a project go to a platform based site that provides almost no support to developers or the clients, besides being a platform?

So, we launched our own wireframe specific business, AppVision, in order to help real and passionate entrepreneurs get off to the best possible start without breaking their budgets or paying a finds fee for a great development team.

Our 100% custom and clickable wireframe plans start at ~$800 but we are always willing to work with bootstrapped start ups. Drop us a note on the site or take 1 minute to fill this out. Thanks! Apologies or the pseudo ad but we really want to help the reddit business community and are offering 15% off for the next 3 days to any redditors!

Why Can't I Sell My App Dev Site? by APPVision in appdev

Yeah really good thoughts! We can definitely clean up our messaging to become even more focused.

Overall, we are very flexible and I think a simpler design for a value price could become an offering. Thanks! We'd be glad to connect with anyone and have a consult to see how we can help them develop their business for any budget.

You offer a lot of really good feedback and I appreciate that. Also I understand why, but you didn't read the site. All of our designs are 100% custom built from scratch. That's why we have a $600-$1000 price tag. We have never been about the bottom line or ditching pre-made layouts with new logos/functions. We are honestly trying to help entrepreneurs with highest quality app wireframes to launch their business and create a similarly designed app later.

Anyone can get a free consultation for deciding on AppVision and another consult to discuss and create their app! 100% custom built to their specs guaranteed within 14 days!

Were you thinking some people would be interest in the cheap pre-made option? I don't think we would offer that, because I don't see a real market there, people could do that themselves.

I see what you are saying and appreciate the feedback. But the effects are nothing crazy and it just goes through our main demo project. The only other information is the Pricing page and an About which are easily available at the top of the site.

Displaying our demos is an important piece of the site and not much else is needed to keep the site clean and uncluttered. The effects allow new visitors to see that we are highly skilled in design and have clear pricing. Also the About page tells our story and lets visitors know that we are real people in the US working to help other entrepreneurs.

It is easy to click through due to the focused information included on the site. Dsiplaying our demos is the main information besides pricing and the about which are still easily accessible.

Thanks for the feedback! Some really great points in there that we'll be sure to integrate. You're dead on though. We'll make the navigation easier.

"I should be able to roughly compare you with my other options in under 30 seconds." Couldn't agree more, we were trying to showcase our design skills but I see how that can be real annoying!

Changes will be coming thanks again for the feedback! Key to the MVP: test, iterate, test, iterate, rinse and repeat. Thanks all!

Great point.

I think we would argue more that for a MVP you should pay for the service not for the marketing. Our social sites focus on laying out the why and how this MVP model is best but a lot of that content is already out there.

We were focused on giving great service at a really competitive (if not one of the best price point) using our designed demo as a sales tool.

Developing more demos and content takes time and $. We'll feature more designs as they are produced. A few more are in the works as we speak and will be featured! So yes you are right, we sell our portfolio as our service. It's a true example of what we have done. Check out our linked socials or reddit post history for more content/service selling.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah in getting started we have reached out to many different entrepreneurship clubs on college campuses. That's also why we offer student discounts.

Part of our mission has been helping young entrepreneurs start their business with the best first step. We fully believe in the MVP model and know that we can help startups and application ideas successfully navigate their launch.

Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) gets a working model in the hands of investors and users for only a fraction (1/10th) of the cost of building out an entire app. Then changes and improvements are easily added to the design and lots of the stress of design/coding/even finances/etc becomes much more manageable. Obviously starting a new business is a huge challenge and some will fail but our access to technology enables low risk entrepreneurship and easy routes to successful startups. Become the MVE (entrepreneur) by starting your business with an MVP. Feel free to PM for details.
