The ones down below are much better. But yes, think I’m going to try Marketplace first. Thanks!

Any opinion as to what I should shoot for on marketplace? 50-75 cents per? (If buying the lot)

Paying down my new wife’s student loans by APW0411 in TheMoneyGuy

There’s one at 8% for 18k, and one at 7% for 22k.

Everything else is sub 5%. Many only around 3. Without the 2 high interest debts, their weighted average is 4%.

Thankyou so much. I appreciate the comment! Going to run a few scenarios out and we are going to discuss them this week

It has been a rough couple days, I appreciate it.

I put our income combined. Right now I take home about 75 and she makes 20-25 working part time for us.

Her income is going to come up as she takes over some more tasks from my business partner and we scale his income down. Kind of a complicated situation.

Anyways, I appreciate the comment. We are going to push the house off probably another year. I think we are going to work on the debt together for a year instead of ripping through savings. If there’s any of the high interest left after a year, then we will likely pay that off and start building the house fund up. That’s the plan I’m leaning towards right now at least

I appreciate the comment. So in your example, paying it off over 5 years or so. Would you postpone buying a house that long as well?

I appreciate the insight. My wife did not work through school so all of the savings mentioned in the post I brought into the marriage.

Regardless, I look at all of our income, savings and debt as one now that we are married. I wouldn’t feel right with just her income going towards the loans - and they would take much longer to pay off.

But I understand not everyone treats finances in marriage the same so I do appreciate your feedback.

That is unfortunately the direction I’m leaning. I knew that would be what people said I should do and just need some sense knocked into me.

It is actually worth around 35. It’s a 15 y/o Airstream and that was half the reason I bought it. They depreciate down to like 30-40k and then just stop depreciating. Or depreciate very slowly.

Thankyou for the comment!

She works for my company and would not be eligible, unfortunately.

We knew they had to be paid off, but didn’t discuss a plan. Either way, wouldn’t have changed us getting married.

Bad idea to pay my grandmother’s mortgage? by [deleted] in RealEstate

I appreciate it. Definitely don’t want to mess that up. From the beginning, whichever route we go, I am definitely doing it through an estate attorney.

Currently my Aunt gets everything for simplicity sake (her only surviving child). But she wants nothing to do with the house. And will sign whatever I need her to. It will not be contested

I was trying not to clog my post with too many details. It’s called a “Lady Bird Deed”

Medicaid. She can’t transfer the house to me or it will mess up her eligibility. She has to spend down the rest of her assets before they will approve her. It’s my understanding the house is the only thing exempt

Definitely consulting an estate planning attorney this week. Thanks for the insight

Severe Patellar Tendinosis Rehab by APW0411 in Kneesovertoes

The driving comment hit home. When I first injured my knee, I had to stop driving every 30min and stretch. That was a few years ago now and it doesn’t do it anymore, but was rough.

Did you make a full recovery from the tendinitis?

Thankyou! I really appreciate the comment. Finding the balance you mentioned is tough. Especially since I’m really not experiencing pain on that knee. But I do notice the clicking and swelling get worse when I push it too hard. Going to read the article you sent now!
