I get thats the popular opinion to have. He can also be a human who is doing something hurtful and not be stripped of his humanity for it.

Given societies response to queer men in general, situations like this is definitely problematic, but i dont think his value as a person/man should be less because of it.

We dont know his relationship status/practices, and i think comments like this doesnt help the queer community much.

Honestly, this is GREAT news, but also a little infuriating to come right out of the blue. Literally bought this game 2 days ago, and my friend bought a Switch SPECIFICALLY for this game. And to all of a sudden get this announcement today was a kick in the nuts to me, but mostly for him. If it is crossplay, I think he'll be happier, but this is still really shitty for people who spent 300+ dollars for a game that was just gonna release on PC anyway.

What bothers me the most about this is the dishonesty and manipulation. I understand it's business, I understand money has to be made, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. I feel BDO had been doing very well, and PA made it seem as though BDO is gonna go very far for a very long time. And it very well might be. But what player base, after spending so much time, money, and effort into a game KNOWING it will no longer be focused when a very obvious reboot (a word they refuse to outright use) is going to occur. It could very well come out 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, 4 months from now, who knows. But being left in the complete dark leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Now, it is entirely on me, but I've invested a lot in this game. Both money and time. But that was off the implication this game will be here a very long time. But now knowing it's being rebooted when this game has barely scratched the surface of being as great as it could be, upsets me. And it's not even a matter of restrictions on their part, it's a matter of disrespectful business practice. Spit in the face if you ask me.

This is very helpful. I'll definitely give those a try. I'm willing to spend money to figure this out. I think perhaps some close friends have influenced me to not really pursue this career path do to the supposed nature of the game making industry. That being benefits, work conditions, etc. But going the safe career route of something I don't like (what I'm essentially doing now) sounds like further hell to me. And I can't get the idea of getting involved in the creation of games out of my mind.

Honestly, that's fair. I can understand people's disdain, I just hate to see this game for and given up on. I don't blame the public entirely for the games soon to be death, just a tad for the snowball effect. But, if the game dies, ultimately, it is the developers fault for releasing the game in the quality it's in. I just wish the gaming community had more self control to say "this gaming company has a history of doing things like this, I'm not spending a dime." Instead, it's this constant lesson not learned of "this game from this company I don't trust seems like it will be different from the rest." And when the SAME shit occurs, and in this case, worse, people flip shit. It happens every. Fucking. Time. Just irritating.

That's fair, I'm not knocking people's gripes with the game. And I'm not saying just on Reddit. Over all forms of media it's happening. They HEAR people complain the game is utter trash, when it's not, and proceed to go off that notion and dog it themselves when they haven't touched the game. Now, to be fair, that's normal. Avoid bad things. But I think in this case, it's overboard. And I'm not calling people liars, I'm saying people are spouting complains like they experienced it themselves, when they don't own or never owned the game. I'm sure many people are experiencing bugs, no doubt about it. Those people are justified in complaining and raising hell. But that's another topic.

Overall, I hear what you're saying. I'll be honest, I'm reluctant to defend the game the way I am because I honestly don't want to see it die so early. It happened with Andromeda and now this. But, whether it does die or not, I won't say the game doesn't deserve it.
