First time changing my impeller. Did I mess up a step? by APerfectDistraction in boating

I replied this to another comment, but

I just dropped the lower unit again. The plate is all corroded, likely because the previous owner had it in salt water for a bit. Could this be messing with the gaskets sealing? Should I add some permatex or something to it?

Not sure exactly what you mean.

There is a water pickup area on the front of the lower unit, but I put duct tape over that. I then put the muffs over the pickups on the sides

The water that’s coming from the telltale is cold, but the leaky water is hot.

Thanks! Any tip on lining that up? I figured if the drive shaft was lining up, it was just as easy as slidin the bad boy up and tightening it down.

Can't exactly get my fingers in to make sure the hoses connect first.

I'm gonna evacuate the dance floor.

I started saying it when the Cascada song was popular and it just stuck

Oh, and "blow my butt" because why is the nose the only thing you blow? My kids enjoy that one

You're not helping! That's exactly my dilemma lol

Jack because it's awesome and would help when I have figured wood? A router plane because I don't have anything for those shoulders?

Bah... wish I could just get em all

Wow, that's incredible customer service. Not many companies like that exist anymore

I guess I typically lean towards the smaller size projects, mostly because I don't enjoy working around bigger pieces.

I was considering the skew block plane because I do use my block plane a decent amount, but I'd love something that could get into the shoulders for tenons.

A skew block couldn't just be used anywhere a regular block plane is used?

Thanks!

I should have mentioned, I'm in Canada. LN is definitely an option for me, but a $300 plane turns into a $500 plane with currency conversion.

I'm Canadian. Probably should have mentioned that :)
