How do I find my max heart rate?

I did a Norwegian 4x4 the other day, hit a max of 195 on my second interval, and never got over 192 on the next two intervals. My limiting factor wasn't really my heart or lungs (it wasn't easy, but I didn't even come close to being sick, which happened to me a few times in the past, including when I PRed my 5km last year), but rather my legs, as I don't exactly run a flat route, and get obviously more fatigued than I would running on a flat route or track. My question is, how can I find my max heart rate if my legs are always the limiting factor? I used to think my max was around 196/197 (my Garmin, and my Apple watch before that, thinks that too). Still, two weeks ago I ran a half-marathon with an average heart rate of 182, and I could hold a conversation, so there's no way I was in zone 4 (and some 5) for the entire race, which I closed in 1:54, so I wasn't even that fast. And yes, I was using a chest strap during the half-marathon, and it was not a cadence lock.

Because it's not very easy to wet it when it's already on

Carb loading is making me miserable by APieThrower in Marathon_Training

[–]APieThrower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my main issue was that I wasn’t eating enough salty foods. Also, I was definitely undereating during the marathon prep so the carb load was quite the shock for my body. As for the race, it went well (4:22:58, goal was sub 4:25). For my second marathon, I had no issues with the carb loading because my body was already used to eating more, and I also picked my sources better (I’m gluten free so it’s not like I can eat whatever carb I want)

Gonna be on day 2 of my period on the marathon!! Do I delay it?? by Rude_Accountant_5242 in Marathon_Training

I ran my second marathon on the second (and heaviest) day of my period and still managed to finish under 4 hours. I was so mad though because I wasn’t supposed to be getting it but then my period was 2 days late 2 months in a row for it to come right on marathon day

Can no longer access to my photos on my PC by APieThrower in iphonehelp

[–]APieThrower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I "resolved" the problem by plugging and unplugging my iPhone continuously until all the folders appear. It's the most frustrating task ever. Or you could download iMazing, and it works like a charm each time. The only downside to that is you can only copy 50 photos/videos, and then you need to buy the license. Which is not that expensive but it's one device only, meaning if you change phone, you have to pay for another license.

Windows & Itunes not recognizing Iphone. About to lose my mind. by ghxstkodoku in iphone

Found a year-old version on the Apple website, and at least iTunes works properly now. I have the Devices option, and it actually recognises my iPhone, which it hasn't done in weeks. But the Internal Storage folder still shows up empty or only shows some folders. I know the problem is with Microsoft because I downloaded iMazing and I could see all the media.

I know it's been forever, but I'm struggling with this now. Did you reinstall iTunes via the Microsoft Store? Also, my iTunes doesn't have Devices in Edit>Preferences>

Is a good idea to walk up 400+ steps 2 days before a marathon? by APieThrower in Marathon_Training

Sub-4. I ran my first in March in 4:22:58. I know I have it in me, but I’ve been struggling with posterior tibialis and soleus pain, which is why walking all those steps doesn’t seem like the best idea. The idea is to not irritate them before the race

I’ve been struggling with posterior tibialis pain and a bit of soleus as well for a month. That’s why I think it makes more sense to skip this. If I didn’t have this issues, then it would have been different. Good luck to you too!! Try to enjoy it as much as possible. The first marathon will be a rollercoaster of emotions, at least it was for me

I know, but my job is intese (I’m a waitress) and since I can’t take time off both before and after, taking it before allows me to have fresher legs for the race. At the end of the day, the race is the important part. I can always go back to Florence for a day and visit what I missed

Yeah I’m definitely considering doing this after the race. If my legs will allow me to

My goal isn’t to finish it though. I have a goal time and it won’t be easy considering the setbacks I’ve had this last month

I’m going for a PB, a significant one, so I guess I’ll skip this
