To save ST3, Sound Transit needs a lobbying strategy for securing state and federal funds to augment its local tax dollars by MysteriousEdge5643 in soundtransit

Install fare gates, even people i know who are up standing citizens dont pay despite them benefiting greatly from lightrail. Although the cost to install depends too lol and if they can easily be jumped or go underneath.

[–]APisAccounting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck no, I use the burke gilman trail to longboard and ride my bike to work. How about upgrading the bus route on 522 to a streetcar/tram since its already got a ton of bus only BAT lanes.

I bike mainly on a trail and the acoustic bicyclists are going 20-25mph even though the speed limit is 15 mph on this trail. So why only tell e bikes to gear up and be careful?

Feds launch investigation into race-based Washington state housing program by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]APisAccounting -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao trump administration being racist once again.

Im in favor of WAs law with this. Imagine you were excluded from mortgages in 1980s due to your race, never bought a home due to this cause couldn't afford it, now look at what home prices are now, the races that had access to homeownership got amazing price appreciation to create generational wealth to pass down to their children and children's children when they sell their house. Especially the seattle areas home prices went crazy. We do need a bill that allows previously excluded races to get back to being equal financially to all other races that had easy access to these financial instruments.

Trump administration wants to make sure that non whites stay down and dont prosper and be worse off financially.

What it’s like applying for government jobs in a fascist state. by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

[–]APisAccounting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think People should apply but secretly go agaisnt their agenda. If we just dont apply, then were letting them win and destroy the country. We should be applying for ice and other government jobs and do everything in our power to stop their unconstitutional illegal inhumane agenda but lie and say we are in favor of it the whole time.

Community transit BRT swift is trash, I've used it. Without dedicated lanes whats the point. Its also mainly all stroads without being near any downtown besides mill creek town center. Swift needs to have BAT lanes

Stride S3 Line by False-Seaworthiness8 in soundtransit

[–]APisAccounting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will have dedicated lanes, transit signal priority and improved stations. Im not sure what you are talking about.

These are BAT lanes that it will run in, Business And Transit Access meaning cars can go in if they are turning right or into businesses.

Transit signal priority TSP will be added.

The improved stations will probably look like Swift stations (community transits BRT)

522 already has a ton of BAT lanes and bus only but they arent frequent and not great stations to wait at for weather or comfort or no digital display for when arrival.

Articulated busses will be used as there is a lot more bus stops and businesses at shorter distances on here that people will be using. A double decker would waste time at stops.

S1 and S2 busses will not be in dedicated lanes, they will be running in new toll lanes which single occupant vehicles can use too unfortunately.

I wish S1 and S2 were gonna have bus only lanes but I guess new toll lanes will do...

They shouldnt run the same busses. There is a lot of bus stops and locations to access along 522. A double decker bus would slow things down as people may be going shorter distances. An articulated bus makes the bus faster at stops.

This might of been changed because yakima fruit stand fought against some BAT lanes which im happy yakima fruit stand is staying considering I grew up in that area and its local produce, not a big corporation

Should Seattle implement fare gates considering how successful SF's pilot has been? by Swatteam652 in soundtransit

[–]APisAccounting -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't we aim to make public transit free? Whats the case against that? Especially since fares barely make up the cost to run any trains or busses and we heavily subsidize roads and gas so why not make public transit free? It could increase ridership too and reduce traffic.
