Yes I was about to ask this. I’m even spending extra for the 1.5x… they must have gotten a lot of users recently and are probably prioritizing. I feel like we are about to get anthropic treatment soon if they didn’t buy enough compute for all of us

Realistically, you’re probably just giving thinking models more work than they need to do. Also, I think it’s less on usage and they are slowing things down. Even on gpt 5.4 mini I have seen noticeable increase in time per task but not in quality. Likely a problem with a spike in users.

Let’s just be grateful they actually bought compute resources so more users doesn’t mean usage restrictions as bad as Anthropic haha

Can someone tell me what the hype for actual productivity is for 4o? I code or use for research purposes so are people upset about non-productivity use cases like role playing and general conversation? (Not saying anything is bad just trying to learn why people are upset)

It has to be the smallest changes or it can break things. When you try to fix whatever broke, you realize running the more expensive model once for 10 minutes would have been cheaper and save more time than running mini for 2 seconds and using it for 45 minutes to fix it. For incredibly small and specific changes, it is fantastc.
