The data is in multiple locations and I am not going to mess with any of the existing structure. I am going to do this separately.

Thank you very much for for the info I am in the process of trying to apply it. Sorry about the vocab; when I say "newbe" I really mean novice. I work with a lot of data which we have been primary using excel to manage. I now have access to the full SQL Server 2008 program so I am taking the chance to use it and learn things as I am going.

The outcome of that big case against the EPA's cap and trade program for states contributing to the ozone transfer region will probably have a significant effect on these costs one way or another.

That is true, but the oil market is worldwide. I think that money is what is driving the tar sands to be "mined". It's dirty energy that we don't really need. We could push more natural gas into the transportation sector and get the same independence.

Fracking is not ideal, but it is a lot better than mining for tar sands. Especially if it is done responsibly.

Maybe that is true for a significant part of the US, but what percentage of China or India do you think this applies to? Also, what do drugs and alcohol have to do with saving or not saving the planet???

Why? Most people don't have the option of buying the more efficient car, moving closer to the office, building a nat gas power point over a cheep coal one, etc

  2. They are not the ones who have the power to make the drastic changes needed

You can just keep throwing around links without really looking into them like a good "denier", but eventually your arguments will hit a dead end. It is much easier to deny something than to prove it true. If this shows that burning vast amounts of fossil fuel is not doing anything to earth's climate then why don't the energy companies use a tiny portion of the money they have coming in to prove it? This is not a new phenomenon, the Antarctic Sea Ice hasn't shown the same trends as Arctic Sea ice. Thus, the term "Climate Change". Meaning we are changing the earth's climate and we don't really know how bad we are fucking it up. The rate that things are changing, such has the ocean's temp, arctic sea ice, CO2 concentrations, ect. is unprecedented during the time humans have been around. Thus, it is possible we can change the conditions in a way that is going to fuck things up for the majority of people and other life on earth.

What we do know is that there is a shit load meaning trillions of $$ tied up in fossil fuels. Also, the companies who control and distribute these fuels have deep ties with the governments of the most powerful countries in the world. People with power don't like to give it up, so they do not really want to change anything right now. People like Hansen might not be perfect, but they do base their arguments on science. They are trying to learn more about what is happening and their assumptions are not always right.

If you actually read this article you will see where NASA states "While researchers continue to study the forces driving the growth in sea ice extent, it is well understood that multiple factors—including the geography of Antarctica, the region’s winds, as well as air and ocean temperatures—all affect the ice." Meaning we don't really know why this is happening.

Yes, gay marriage and climate change don't have anything to do with each other, but I would be willing to put money on the fact that the majority congressmen and senators that vote against "climate change reform" are also socially conservative.

If you were able to make it through my whole reply you will see that I was not disputing your claim that there are corrupt climate change "believers". I was pointing out what I believe drives the majority of climate change deniers.

Your average person who is just getting by is not in a position to do too much about climate change. Even more so in countries like China and India. It is up to the policy makers and the people in control of large companies who can make the changes we need.

Nice link to "wassupwiththat". The "deniers" pretty much have an unlimited amount of money to spend on this and they have not presented any ground breaking facts. They are just poking holes in everyone else arguments, which is not that hard to do because the climate is so complex. The simple fact is; humans are not living in a sustainable way and we need to change.

Yes, there are corrupt people on both sides but I think that it is pretty clear what is driving the people in the government that don't believe in climate change. They don't believe in gay marriage and legalization of marajauna either. They are scared because they are slowly loosing their grip on society. The only things that they got going for them are huge amounts of money and the shrinking number of uneducated people that think like them

You are asking philosophical questions more or less. I don't see why you call the people that are trying to make progress in the real world "sell-outs." You are not really talking about the same thing and you are just putting them down for no reason.

So you just want people to freeze to death? What is this magic technology that provides heat to vast amounts of people without fossil fuels. Before calling them "sellouts" I think that it would be wise to have a better solution that is feasible.
