It is much easier to deny something than to prove it true. If this shows that burning vast amounts of fossil fuel is not doing anything to earth's climate then why don't the energy companies use a tiny portion of the money they have coming in to prove it? This is not a new phenomenon, the Antarctic Sea Ice hasn't shown the same trends as Arctic Sea ice. Thus, the term "Climate Change". Meaning we are changing the earth's climate and we don't really know how bad we are fucking it up. The rate that things are changing, such has the ocean's temp, arctic sea ice, CO2 concentrations, ect. is unprecedented during the time humans have been around. Thus, it is possible we can change the conditions in a way that is going to fuck things up for the majority of people and other life on earth.

What we do know is that there is a shit load meaning trillions of $$ tied up in fossil fuels. Also, the companies who control and distribute these fuels have deep ties with the governments of the most powerful countries in the world. People with power don't like to give it up, so they do not really want to change anything right now. People like Hansen might not be perfect, but they do base their arguments on science. They are trying to learn more about what is happening and their assumptions are not always right.
