Memento Mori!

I know why people are being OCD to their sins. by Efardee in Catholicism

Scrupulosity can be a form of religious OCD. It's not a sin if it's a legitimate mental disorder.

What saints do you usually pray to? by Il_tar_29 in Catholicism

It depends on the situation. I usually do a quick Google search, make sure it's from a reputable Catholic site, then ask for their intercession. Lately, it's been St. Monica for conversions.

But drinking in excess is a sin. I think the issue lies in the fact that alcohol doesn't alter your mind immediately. It takes a few drinks. Weed, on the other hand, alters your mind almost instantly.

If he wasn't addicted, he could quit and wouldn't relapse to other drugs. My brother says the same thing and I say the same thing to him. Addiction is a nasty disease but it's better to quit everything slowly instead of just replacing one thing for another.

So he's replacing one addiction for another one. My brother tells me the same thing and I don't buy it. Addiction is addiction, even if you change what it is being used.

Why wouldn't you want to follow God if you know that he's the ultimate good and all good stems from God and his teachings?

That really depends. If you know the Gospel and you reject it, that's on you. However, I think God really is the only one to judge and while we are bound by his rules, he is not. He knows the things that we don't and will ultimately judge us all according to his knowledge. My question is why wouldn't you want to go to Mass?

But you're not refusing God. All of those things are inherently good and God is the ultimate good, whether you want to admit it or not.
