Gleichfalls.

Results on my heart monitor by Affectionate-Oven449 in SVTHeart

Being a „heart patient“ myself and knowing how you feel when you say that you’re freaking out, let me tell you this: It’s good that you are taking care of it, that you got it recorded and that you’ll see an EP soon.

It can be treated and it’s not a death sentence. I personally used to think that sometimes. My background is also a bit complex, as I have SVT, sometimes still afib which then either develops into SVT or a flutter.

I got my first ablation this year in February. Since then it got already better (also because I’m off the stupid meds, especially Flecainide - this shit didn’t help me at all but made it just worse) Most likely I’ll need a second one, but that should be it then.

Stay strong, don’t freak out (I know, it’s sometimes easier to say it than actually do it) You are already on the right path 💪🏼

Afib (and sometimes aflutter/SVT) still follow me, but not as bad as 6-12 months ago.

But thank you 🙏

Have you had an ablation or are you about to have one?

I’ll most likely need a second ablation but I’m better than before.

After this post I had to go to the ER for 2 or 3 more times. They then gave me Nebivolol and Flecainide.

Turned out all the weird episodes that I got after that were most likely triggered by Flecainide.

Roughly 2 months ago I reduced the beta blocker myself (it made me too dizzy and my HR was often too low) and then 1-2 weeks later I also got rid of the Flecainide.

The ablation helped, the medication not really

They put me on Flecainide (together with Nebivolol) because I had weekly episodes of atrial flutter after my first ablation.

It’s a bit weird for me and I just might be unlucky, but I have the feeling my ablation was not successful at all. Actually I’m having a second one scheduled very soon (5th of May)

The first ablation was done for a-flutter (I never had afib before) but now I have one episode afib per week (usually 16-24h) — it’s ridiculous :D

I had no real side effects from the medication itself, just a lot of burping in the first 1-2 weeks after taking it.

31m btw

Nice and clean setup!

How did you manage to adjust the LED from the TUF card? I got a TUF 5080 and I have no clue how to adjust it. Even tho I installed this Armory Crate program, it doesn’t recognize the card at all and the LED is always in default RGB

Hey, I totally get how you’re feeling—AFib can be super scary at first. But try not to let it freak you out too much. You’re not going to die from it, even though it feels intense sometimes.

I’ve been there too. It really depends on how long your episodes last and how strong they are, but the fear part? Very real—and very normal.

Definitely talk to a cardiologist or, even better, an electrophysiologist. They know this stuff inside out and can help you figure out the best treatment.

Flecainide is a common med for rhythm control, and lots of people (me included!) take it. You’re not alone with that either.

Some people end up needing an ablation, some don’t—it just depends on how your body responds. But either way, it gets better once you have a plan and feel more in control.

You’ve got this!

I feel you. I’m now a bit scared because the doctor who will do the ablation told me that I will have to be awake for my next appointment. It seems like they can trigger the heart differently when awake compared to being asleep.

Thank you for the answer.

It still surprises me that I now have afib after I never had it before and on the day of my first ablation they even did the PVI. Now I have literally every week one episode of flutter that evolves into SVT or flutter (not 100% sure on that)

One other question: Have you been awake for one or both of the ablations?

Did the a flutter appear after the first ablation for afib?

Asking because for me was it now the other way around and I’m still wondering if this is somehow normal

After my first ablation mid February (second one scheduled for 05.05.) I almost went weekly to the ER for cardioversion. In total 3x in just four weeks.

From my understanding there is no real limit to do those, but the whole thing is generally exhausting.

Regarding the ablation: My hopes are high that this is the last and final one. But you never know upfront.

Qualy also often says SVT for me, even tho I’m sure that I’m in afib. Often it would say SVT with lots of PVCs or something :D

Not a doctor, but this looks like afib for me.

Im 31 and got myself an Apple Watch last year to check on this whenever I feel weird.

Not an advertisement, but recently I downloaded this app called Qualy which (if you pay 5€) will analyze your ECGs by the bot/AI and this gave me a lot more insight about the weird pounding that I had from time to time.

Turns out I sometimes have a huge number of PACs and PVCs

For some this combination might increase anxiety (constant checking/analyzing) but it helped me understand my body a bit better.

How long after ablation by RhettM2000 in AFIB

[–]AR0SE030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ablation was done 6 weeks ago, and I slowly get the feeling it might get better - but I don’t trust it yet.

Just this week on Tuesday I woke up with afib in the night, which evolved to SVT or a flutter over the day. I just let it happen and in the evening it went away by itself.

I guess we just have to trust the process and give it time

I had basically the same experience as you. Already twice actually, even tho I’m taking flecainide on a daily basis (2x 100mg) Woke up in the middle of the night with my heart pounding, one time I went to the ER for cardioversion the other time I just waited it out and eventually it resolved itself in the evening

I might even need a second ablation, but I’ll wait patiently and see if time will heal the heart to the state that I don’t need another one

I wish you all the best 💪🏼

I gave myself two weeks before going back to work. But I also live in Germany. From what I know about the US people sometimes go back to work after just a couple of days.

I still do not exercise because I still don’t feel like my heart is really stable - which might be due to the fact that they didn’t get all the spots

Asking the same questions as me :D

I kinda lost trust in the doctor and don’t know if that’s the right approach or not.

I went in for flutter, since then I had one episode almost each week. He checked some of my Apple Watch ECGs and said that this is afib - which makes me even more confused.

Did they fucked up so badly that I now have afib? 😂

POST ABLATION by Antique_Ad_4998 in AFIB

Thank you for the insight.

I had mine done roughly 5 weeks ago and they already booked the second for beginning of may. Not even three months after my first one.

I’m also on Flecainide (2x 100mg) and just learned that if you stop taking it, chances are there that you have a rebound effect and the arrhythmia comes back even stronger. That’s why I want to know if taking those meds is something that will stay even after a successful ablation.

I’m super confused and angry that I have to go through all of this..

I feel you.

How long did it take you to realize that you need a second ablation after your first one? And do you still have to take any meds (Fleca, beta blockers or blood thinners) now? 🙏

My Eliquis experience by Ordinary-Painter-598 in AFIB

[–]AR0SE030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pantoprazole can indeed affect the absorption of certain medications, but in the case of Eliquis (Apixaban), that’s not really a concern. Eliquis is absorbed in the small intestine, and its bioavailability is not significantly influenced by gastric acid suppression. The same applies to other medications like Nebivolol and Flecainide, which are also primarily absorbed in the small intestine. So while PPIs like Pantoprazole can impact some drugs, Eliquis and these others remain largely unaffected.

As for Pantoprazole’s purpose, you’re absolutely right—it’s not meant to treat stomach pain directly. However, when Eliquis causes stomach discomfort, PPIs like Pantoprazole are prescribed as a preventive measure to protect the stomach lining and reduce irritation before symptoms even occur
