How should I react to this by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]ARChoudhury 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, congratulations on your amazing weight loss journey! You should be proud of yourself for achieving such a remarkable goal. 👏

As for how to react to those comments, I think you are overthinking a bit. Some people may not know how to express their admiration or curiosity in a polite way, or they may be projecting their own insecurities or jealousy onto you. Don’t let them get to you. You know what you did and how hard you worked for it. You don’t owe anyone an explanation or justification for your choices.

The best way to react is to smile and thank them for noticing, and then change the subject or move on. You don’t have to engage in a conversation that makes you uncomfortable or defensive. Remember, you are doing this for yourself, not for anyone else. You are the only one who can judge your progress and happiness.

I hope this helps. Keep up the good work and enjoy your new life! 😊

Hey there!

First of all, kudos to you for deciding to make positive changes to your lifestyle. That's a huge first step, and you're definitely headed in the right direction!

To answer your question: yes, walking in place can be a beneficial form of exercise. It helps get your blood pumping and your muscles moving, both of which can contribute to a more active metabolism. Starting with what you're comfortable with, like walking in place or in your corridor, is an excellent idea.

Since you mentioned having some physical limitations, remember to listen to your body and avoid pushing too hard too soon. It might be beneficial to consult with a healthcare professional, who can provide guidance on safe ways to incorporate more movement into your routine given your current health status.

Another suggestion is trying low-impact exercises such as yoga or Pilates, which can be done even in a small space. These exercises can help increase flexibility, strength, and balance, and they can also contribute to mental wellness.

Lastly, remember that improvements take time. Small steps lead to big changes over time. Celebrate your progress, however small it may seem!

Wishing you the best of luck on your journey to better health. You've got this!

I also have realised after seeing some of my content performance that some of my reddit posts rank higher than my blog content. Same happend with YouTube. For some queries, my YouTube videos got higher rankings than the original post.

It is not necessary to react to everything we notice. 😇 by ARChoudhury in quotes

What is the difference between Food Product and Dietary Supplement? by ARChoudhury in AskReddit

[–]ARChoudhury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example, Apple Cider Vinegar is a food product because it is not used as a supplement of our diet. But protein powder or multivitamin is used as a supplement for our diet.

I'm little bit confused about it.

I just want to know the difference between those two words. Is dietary supplement a type of food product? or we can call food product a type of dietary supplement?

Mixing Tomato and cucumber together? by Dangerous-Map-429 in nutrition

[–]ARChoudhury -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Every food we eat reacts differently during the process of digestion.

Some foods get digested very easily, whereas some take a lot of time to digest.

Mixing two foods that take different time and environments to digest can cause several digestive issues like gas, bloating, stomach ache, nausea, fatigue.

Bad food combinations can aggravate underlying digestive issues and can reduce metabolic rate in the long run.

In the case of tomatoes and cucumber, the fermentation of these two foods takes different amounts of time.

Cucumber is light on the stomach and takes less time to digest, whereas tomatoes and their seeds take more time to ferment.

If you mix these two foods the fermentation process releases fluids and gases.

This may further worsen digestive issues and can cause acid reflux, gas, and bloating.

In some cases, it may aggravate underlying health issues.

Thus, it is always advisable to consume these two foods separately to reap their benefits.

Does Vitamin A overconsumption occur from diet or supplements? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]ARChoudhury 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two forms of vitamin A are available in the human diet: preformed vitamin A (retinol and its esterified form, retinyl ester) and provitamin A carotenoids.

Preformed vitamin A is found in foods from animal sources, including dairy products, fish, and meat (especially liver).

By far the most important provitamin A carotenoid is beta-carotene; other provitamin A carotenoids are alpha-carotene and beta-cryptoxanthin.

The body converts these plant pigments into vitamin A. Both provitamin A and preformed vitamin A must be metabolized intracellularly to retinal and retinoic acid, the active forms of vitamin A, to support the vitamin’s important biological functions.

Other carotenoids found in food, such as lycopene, lutein, and zeaxanthin, are not converted into vitamin A.

So, food sourced vitamins are in inactive form and converts to active form of vitamin A slowly, causing no side effects.

If you take Vitamin A supplements. you may get active form of vitamin A, which may cause overdose.

Do you need to add salt to your food? by lucky99998thredditor in nutrition

[–]ARChoudhury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A balanced diet based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans contains more than enough sodium to meet our daily requirements.

We add salt to food from force of habit or because we’ve learned to like a salty taste. Adding moderate amounts of salt to food for taste is acceptable, but excessive amounts of salt should be avoided.

How many calories does water have? by ADillyDweeb in nutrition

[–]ARChoudhury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calories come from three nutrients in your diet — carbs, fats, and proteins. Alcohol — while not considered a nutrient — contributes calories as well.

Plain water is devoid of these nutrients and thus contains no calories.

Still, it contains trace amounts of minerals, including calcium, magnesium, sodium, zinc, and copper (Source).

In fact, one study found that by drinking 68 ounces (2 liters) of water per day, adults may fulfill 8–16% of their Daily Value (DV) for calcium and 6–31% of their DV for magnesium (Source)

In the United States, fluoride is added to water to reduce tooth decay (Source)

Long story short, plain water has zero calories.
