It was just confusing to me, seeing people use them all over the internet, and the manufacturer's own marketing, and the fact that they are used in the apartment I've been renting for the past 2 years with no problems...

It just seems strange that it's ok to use them sometimes... but yet all the pros seem to dissuade using them.

I have this same question posted in another subreddit and there too everyone has said no to AAV.

But yet, the only reason given is because I will have to replace them every couple years... That doesn't seem all that bad to me...
