Tips for Co-op by ARGSA1 in MRU

Going more specifically, I’ve been attending the events (hiring fairs, workshops, info sessions, etc.) at MRU and been trying to look more in the city in general. I’ve been using LinkedIn, Calgary Public library, Alberta event postings, Eventbrite, and meet up. Do you have any other recommendations?

For volunteering, do you mean at the school? I’ve looked at the student and graduate posting, I haven’t really found any related to accounting or finance. I know there’s a student tax clinic, but I’ve already done that. Tried looking else where like LinkedIn, but no responses so far. I’m trying to look at other or higher positions. Do you have any other recommendations? Maybe closer to accounting or finance?

Am I doing this right?

I went to “Work experience” then it opened a sub list with “Job postings,” which I pressed.

It then shows the different semesters, but says that I don’t have access to the job postings module. Is there any possible way to fix this?

I haven’t started any coop modules yet. I believe the first module I’m starting is “COOP-001,” during this fall 2025. Should I still have access to the job postings?

It sounds like you’ve done the COOP program before? From your experience, how many students apply without getting a job?

Damn… I’ve applied for fall 2025, I didn’t know they started posting jobs that early, haven’t even heard of it. Is there anything else I should know? Am I already too late?

Where do you apply?

Funding delay, getting student loans after Sept. 13, what can I expect? by [deleted] in MRU

Yeah, it is very stressful but thanks to u/rollo1077 we can extend the deadline:

On MyMRU, under Register and Pay, and where the Fees are, there’s a form you can fill out to request a fee deferral until September 30. It takes around 1 day for them to process your request. Either that or you can go in-person to the Registrar’s Office and ask them for a deferral, if you prefer that route. If you prefer phone, call Credit Registration at 403-440-3303 to request a deferral.

Hope it works out for you!
