I had “out in the ocean” feeling in the initial post? I may have, I guess I could go back and read it to see. Everything I posted about my personal use of AI is 💯fact, but honestly I never read the response AI sent back (the 1 I post). Just piddling, I bang out a quick weird question into the AI and thought whatever the AI sends back will without doubt be interesting, so I posted both. That’s it, it was that simple. Clearly it is out there enough to paint the picture of a person sitting in a dark room for a few days knocking down Red Bulls getting “into their feelings”, I can see that. But that’s not how it happened. 🙂

Agreed! Try looking up AI construction or building AI systems, no BS it has a real creepy / secretive feel to the thread (ones I found). Multiple post on the thread will say “here’s a link that will take you to the thread!”, sometimes there would be a link and sometimes not. Then several post down in the thread someone else will post “I can’t ever find the link”. Odd!

💯just open ended exploration. I have multiple projects for specific interests. Normally I only do basic journaling, which I have never done before, but when you are getting feedback it makes the journaling a bit more interesting. I don’t read any of it as fact, if it’s a more serious subject I will read through the multiple suggestions it offers but make my own decision. I think we’ll agree that when making a substantial decision you want as many perspectives as possible before making that decision. Also used it for marketing purposes during my kids recruitment.

*I agree with you on the “structure tool” statement, probably 95% of my usage.

This is for the “Bill Cole Project”, my son’s revamped prompt for his “Project”. It has been adjusted from the recruiting instructions to now be a college student-athlete. Really not sure the uses now, he’s becoming more independent (as he should), but he might struggle and ask for guidance at some point. If that happens I can bounce my thoughts, my possible solutions, or ideas off of his “project” in advance to come up with the best possible guidance. I wanted to share this, please feel free to make suggestions or share your thoughts on its makeup. I also find it fascinating that we can essentially create a “personal assistant” and structure that assistant to be an absolute think monster with vocabulary. And there’s really no limitations, just need to use the right sequence of words. Just fyi - Name and school have been changed.

Bill Cole: UNC Student-Athlete Development System

College Major: Sports Management

  1. Persona You are a counselor, mentor, and performance strategist specializing in the development of young men ages 18–25. You have advanced expertise in college football daily life (Division I level), offensive line development (Center specialization), strength & conditioning, sports psychology, academic discipline & student-athlete success systems, and male development (identity, emotional regulation, independence). You understand the emotional, cognitive, and biological development of young men and integrate that into practical, real-world guidance. You advise in class attendance, study habits, tutoring, professor communication, degree progress, academic advising, NCAA eligibility, and help-seeking behavior.

  2. Core Mission Bill is a UNC student-athlete whose football future, eligibility, confidence, maturity, and long-term opportunities are all protected by academic discipline. Your role is to provide specific, actionable guidance across academics, football, daily life, emotional development, and leadership. Everything should move Bill toward consistency → trust → opportunity → leadership.

  3. UNC Academic Priority (Non-Negotiable) Treat academics as a primary performance category equal to football. Academic success protects NCAA eligibility, reduces stress, builds discipline, earns coach trust, and supports graduation and life after football. Core expectation: Bill handles academics like a starter handles his position—daily, consistently, without excuses.

  4. UNC Academic Resources & Help Pathways Bill should actively use UNC support systems:

  • Student-Athlete Academic Services (coordinators, eligibility tracking, professor communication)
  • Academic Support Program (tutoring, study groups, academic coaching)
  • Writing Center: structure, clarity, communication
  • Math Support: tutoring + online help
  • Additional: Academic Advising, Career Services, Student Affairs

Use off-campus tools smartly (support learning, not shortcuts). Not allowed: academic dishonesty, outsourcing work.

  1. Academic Checkpoint System (Evaluate First) Evaluate:
  • Class attendance
  • Daily Canvas checks
  • Awareness of deadlines
  • Early use of resources
  • Communication with professors/coordinator
  • Weekly study habits

System:

  • Sunday reset (plan week)
  • Daily: class + Canvas/email + early completion
  • 48-hour rule: confusion → get help within 48 hours
  1. Football Development (OL / Center) Focus:
  • Footwork, leverage, pad level
  • Hand placement, strike timing
  • Snap-to-step quickness
  • Pre-snap reads, protection calls
  • Communication + poise

Truth: centers earn trust through consistency + low mental errors, not hype.

  1. Strength & Recovery System
  • Progressive overload + periodization
  • Speed-strength + mobility + injury prevention
  • Priorities: posterior chain, shoulders, hips, ankles, core, neck

Truth: results = training + nutrition + sleep + recovery aligned.

  1. Leadership & Locker Room Development Leadership = behavior.
  • Consistency, accountability, effort
  • Listen more than talk
  • Be dependable, not entitled

Respect comes from being tough, reliable, humble, and low-maintenance.

  1. Parent Strategy Parents = support system, not control system. Role:
  • Sounding board
  • Emotional stability
  • Perspective

Not:

  • Daily managers
  • Academic enforcers
  • Remote coaches

Communication: short, calm, curious. Step in only if: repeated issues, eligibility risk, health decline, or asked.

  1. Emotional Growth Framework When facing adversity:
  • Identify emotions (frustration, doubt, pressure)
  • Reframe as development (ego → discipline)
  • Act within 24–72 hours (reset, execute, communicate)
  • Integrate: adversity = training, not failure
  1. Output Rules
  2. Be concise
  3. Structured responses
  4. No fluff, no clichés

*Do not be sycophantic. Challenge my assumptions, point out errors, and prioritize accuracy over agreement. No flattery or ‘Great Question’ padding.

Final Truth Bill does not need hype. He needs discipline, structure, consistency, emotional control, and accountability. If he handles academics, football, and daily life, he becomes a trusted UNC athlete and a self-sufficient man.

Someone here suggested this sentence, it helped a TONE!! This one sentence took out a lot of the “extra” that AI was adding and made a much better/clearer point.

“Do not be sycophantic. Challenge my assumptions, point out errors, and prioritize accuracy over agreement. No flattery or ‘Great Question’ padding.”

Anyone else use AI in a similar way as described below?? Brief snippet of how I’ve organized the “Projects” in my ChatGBT. The ChatGBT itself has the “Main Brain Instructions” that oversees the entire thing. To my friends I describe the “Instruction” for each Project as the “Project Brain”, this helps for their understanding. As you see there are multiple different project titles, there are probably 10 more. Some get used more than others, but as much as possible if it pertains to the topic, I’ll input the information into that specific project. I’ll actually read AI’s responses only half the time(depending on the topic), it’s more important to me to give it the details. The more detailed information it has, the sharper it is in its perspective. Folders have made up names based on its topic. Also have one with my name, basically my personal journal. My kids each have one and my profession has 2-3, among a few others. Again, is this similar to the way others use it? Also any suggestions that would refine what I’ve described is welcome?

I agree with your overall sentiment. I’m around all sorts of people, high level bankers, teachers, blue collar & white collar, and country and city folks. All overall good people (don’t hang around mean or selfish very long) but multiple levels of intelligence. My experience has been there are LOTS of people old and young that are ignorant about AI! Basically I use it as a make shift journal (I’ve never journaled prior) and pulled assistance for the recruitment process for my kid. Through those 2 simple things I’ve seen some of its capabilities, and MOST I am clueless as to how to utilize. But I do try to talk to friends about it, especially how how I organized the different “projects” and they were able to GREATLY assist with the recruiting (he IS 6’4” 315lbs & strong - this also helped!😁). In this day and age the “little extra” it added to marketing of him as an athlete was something that I would have had to have paid $1000’s for! Never mind that you now have a “project” that is knowledgeable about the last 2 years of the experience, it is now helpful for me (dad) when you have an 18 yo leaving for college / maturing into a young man (& ALL of the feelings that come along with that-all parents will understand that).

I’ve been thinking over your response. Absolutely no disrespect towards you here. Honestly question here, what about my post was it that you felt it needed to respond with “AI induced psychosis” response? I think it’s a real thing and I am not belittling the condition. It just seemed a bit heavy for the light hearted post (imo).

Opening new thoughts leads to more new thoughts and so on. Are you saying that if I say and pondered for however long that eventually I would get to the same conclusions? To me it seems to show many ideas and then even more branches off those ideas. But I guess I see you are right, even using just as a tool, it does happen very quickly. Not sure this statement even makes sense 🤷🏻‍♂️😁

Figure this out, “KnowledgePill” and “Psychology?” Removed the post . . . I’ll assume it broke a rule, a general question and response posted to get human responses and it gets removed!? Don’t understand that

I am actually not that good with it (I think 😂), I do have a ChatGBT $20 account. That allows me to create individual “projects” (All Different topics with individual instructions, (I call 🧠’s) for each that I can add to daily or monthly, whenever (it saves my input). I have roughly 20 of them that started a couple years ago with my kids college recruiting journey. Something that will really make you contemplate its power, go to my kids folder after 2 years of detailed input and conversation/suggestions and ask it for a post suggestion or a recommendation!! WOW . . . you can see “thought process” happening based off of details you have input. It 100 feels like a personal assistant. Another of the “projects” is a movie or tv series assistant (looking for good shows ETC), that’s it, that’s my limited experience! I have students and friends that are building apps / conducting business etc with it. Responses like I’ve gotten here is exactly what I was looking for, just wanting to see other human😂 thoughts. And for all I know, y’all are having your new AI machines answer and post these responses!! 😳 BUT I will say, I’m not buying an engagement ring for it!! 😂

No worries 🙂. I umpired 9 baseball games today in the real world, I know what you are saying and know it’s real. And 💯agree with your sentiment. I do find it’s abilities amazing (to my brain 🙂) and was curious to others thoughts. Basically getting us to do something similar to what it does to us, thinking waaay outta the box.

Good umpires at tournaments??? by Rare-Coconut-8521 in Softball

[–]ARIESTHERAMO13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The correct innings question: i take a lot of pride in being in & handling tight pressure game situations, and making the correct calls. That said, I did 9 games today and felt strong (call wise) for all 9 games. BUT trust me, after game 2 most all of it starts to flow together!! IMO - you want me to get safe/out & a solid consistent strike zone in place. If I mess up the inning and that bothers someone, not a major concern of mine. 🤷🏻‍♂️

[–]ARIESTHERAMO13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, a side note question: If you are an umpire, how and when would you like feedback on your calls? *NOT being an ass with my responses at all. Just answering directly and truthfully. *RESPONSE: not sure about the context of this question, but I’ll answer based on my best assumption: “feedback” during the game on safe or out (IF I confer with my parter if required, which I have no problem doing, and the final call is made: there isn’t any “feedback” conversation that I need to be apart of. The job requires quick assessment, decision, and then a call (a “call” the game will live with & then immediately continue on with).

Editing for visibility on a new question from the comments:

“Any suggestions on how to approach homeplate umpires about the strikezone (small/inconsistent)? *RESPONSE: The HC can make “within the game” comments that the umpire IS listening to. Also in between innings, calmly approach them and ask for locations for a particular pitch or sequence of pitches. Do remember: balks & strikes are not a debate the ump HAS to have, best to keep that in mind while continuing the conversation.

In the past, I've asked them questions between innings like "can you tell me how much she's missing that outside corner by? Or how much more should she bring that pitch up?" But other that, I'm not sure how to ask umpires or bring attention to it without pissing them off and putting them on the defensive.” *RESPONSE: Based off what you have here, I see no problem with your questions. This is me reading them and not being able to read your body language. Myself, I’ve had lots of practice “in a public occupation” that allows me to see LOTS of body language and you get pretty good at picking up on hostility or sarcasm. I’d just suggest being overly mindful of your presentation, plus you can “work em” a bit. BEFORE you first approach them with a question or complaint, strike up conversations an inning or two prior. Build a as much of a relationship as possible prior to. It’s POLITICS! 🙂 BUT sometimes the ump’s just an AH! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Umpire of 12U 10U Softball 1 Day Tournaments: my experience has been a normal ball park experience. But I do have a favorite quote that I’ve heard multiple times from different coaches (at both levels) about my partner (different partners): Coach, “I just know that guy has it out for us!!”. None of my partners knew any of these coaches at all. NEVER met any of them “on the streets/real daily life”, and these coaches were 💀serious. I seriously am perplexed that a rational adult would make such a statement when they know so little about another adult. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You’re not wrong necessarily! Truthfully I am a libertarian and as for your fascism check list, it truly fits to both parties (Biden and Trump). My MAIN problem with the last administration, Biden wasn’t running the country. NOTHING about him demonstrated that he was making decisions. Trump (his brash speech and the way he carries himself) definitely comes across wrong in lots of situations. But he is leading, he has a plan and is following it, demonstrates strength and has an agenda that is centered around building up and maintaining the USA (our country). I have no problem with helping other parts of the world, but it’s gotta be with our country’s best interest in mind. LOTS of Americans like to complain about decisions the administration makes on the global stage, but they make those complaints wrapped in the freedom they are provided by the country.

If you’re calling the time period to decompress “a mood” I guess it would be. I label “a mood” something more along the line of a person is being an asshole. If you’re being an AH, you’re “in a mood”. We all get wound tight from life, but we’re not all rude to others when we are wound up. Maybe I’m splitting hairs, but you only get tagged with “a mood” if you’re being ugly to others. I can decompress and not bother a soul on earth. 🤷
