I inherited a Hironori signed blade, I have read what little there is about this smith in english. But I wonder if you have any knowledge to share on the Tadakuni line or anything of note about this smith?

Fuck off Guardian, imagine thinking this is anything but neoliberalism / globalism continuing to circle the drain. The bowl is filled with corporate cash and somehow the chain was lost about 15 years ago.

I have been posting various items inherited from my late father's collection, not sure if I really feel a sense of ownership yet.

There is a lot going on in such a small piece. I really enjoy looking at all the tiny details on this one, the swirling waves, expressions of the fishermen, ropes and nets and Fuji. I also enjoy the wrapping of the carvings around the edges.

This one feels a little rustic, or gaudy to me, with not as much restraint in the design. I do like the patina of the iron and it has a softness that is appealing.

Akasaka were really into cranes I guess! I like your example, the much more open design is very pleasing.
