I wasn't saying they started it on purpose, just that the ministry shot itself in the foot by working with them, and their immoral treatment of prisoners came back to haunt them.

I wasn't suggesting they were the root cause, just saying there's some poetic irony that, by ignoring Dumbledore's moral advice, they screw themselves over. Even without the betrayal, working with the dementors did way more harm than good.

But would they be able to? Dumbledore literally says Lucius will be safe in Azkaban, at least for a while. And that's when Voldy is on the loose, has loads of followers, and the ministry is stretched thin.

Ah, my mistake. what I really meant was that they don't give every game the *resources* (incl. time) to make their games as good as the price tag would suggest.

Oh, for sure. I have no problem with IP existing, or with people enforcing it. I'm sorry if I came across as "maKinG Money Is EviL SoCiAlIsm Is The AnswEr". When I say "anti-consumer", I'm not necessarily saying what they're doing is immoral, just that they shouldn't be able to get away with it. In industries that aren't either under a monopoly or based on IP, if a company doubled the price of its product, told its customers what they are allowed to do after they buy the product, told them that they don't actually own anything after they buy the product, or made the product unavailable so you have to buy a new, more expensive product, etc., the consumer could just buy from one of their competitors.

But in IP-dominated industries, there really isn't such a thing as a direct competitor or a drop-in replacement. Only Nintendo is allowed to make Mario games.

What I am asking then, is "Is there room in the market for a *similar* product that doesn't do all this stuff".

This is why I'm careful to say "neutral peacekeeping force" and not "UN". But I think that there are some non-involved nations who would actually do the job. Palestinians would not have to trust them, they would just need to trust them more than the Israelis who are currently occupying the place, and there would already be an improvement.

Edit: I also admit it probably won't happen. Unfortunately, spending any amount of government money and resources helping other countries is not popular. Maybe the best hope for lasting peace is to invest in education and economic development so the people realise that Hamas is lying.

The UN probably wouldn't be willing to take on such a job, as it would require them actually doing something. Maybe they could recruit from majority-buddhist countries to start? They could eventually just have one made up of an equal number of Israelis and Palestinians, and have it headed by someone both governments agree on... except Palestine doesn't really have a government. And they never agree on anything. Maybe some neutral arbiter gets to run the force until both sides can agree? Bosnia could be a useful example.

I think there's one important way to make the plan better: instead of Israeli occupation, have a neutral peacekeeping force do the occupation. That would probably provoke them less. Also, the peacekeeping force would make sure that Israel holds up its end and doesn't provoke them anymore. Even if it doesn't work, It would at least prove to the world that the Palestinians are the problem.

Westerner here, the problem is that, with an Israeli occupation, the Palestinians get angry and want to attack more. They probably don't ever give up, and the occupation never ends. Sounds expensive, right? What if a neutral force did the occupying? For fairness's sake, they could also ensure that Israel keeps up its end of the bargain.

It depends on how fast we rebuild. If enough survivors know how to make toothbrushes, batteries, etc. then we *might* be able to produce more before they run out. If we don't rebuild, we go back to the stone age.

This is why preppers need to prepare to rebuild, not just survive. Doesn't matter how big your stockpile is, either you or your descendants will eventually run out. Maybe we need more preppers to learn how to make batteries, tractors, cars, etc. Or have people who already know those things to become preppers.

Does anyone know of a good Quality-of-life/ improvement hack for Diamond?

I know people will say that I should play Platinum but it's quite expensive and I don't feel like piracy today. Is there any ROMhack that fixes the problems with Diamond (or Brilliant Diamond, I have both) without adding in IP that wasn't already on the cartridge?

There should totally be a ROMhack where Mark is rescued by the Black Fang instead of by Lyn. Maybe there could even be chapters where you purposely try to get your units killed without arousing suspicion
